Why? You can drive the GT for a few mos and get what you paid for it.

Very helpful replies.

I had the same debate as did AlohaGT. We both opted for the LS. I think this decision is partly based on the extra real value of the LS but perhaps more on the prospect that due to its very small production numbers, the LS will retain its value better. Ford is saying 700 LS's in 2012 and another 700 in 2013 which will make total production at about 1/3 of the GT's production. Rocketman and Indy also will have LS's so GT Forum Members will put a small dent in the available LS production! So cool! (Now, if Apollo would get his butt in gear.... LOL!!)

A huge question for me, on this debate, is if you need a back seat..... With 2 younger kids, I already have 2 cars with no back seats. I'm still hemming and hawing if I want to add one of these to the fleet.

Guys thx for the replies. First off no kids to worry about so that solves that problem. I already have the 2 GTs. I really want to get the new Boss so its not a matter of keeping the money in the bank and getting basically NO interest anyways. So if you have the Extra cash which would you take. So far it seems LS is in the lead.

LS for sure then, if you can get one for MSRP. The LS is bad ass, but neither of the LS color choices do much for me. I could look past it for sure, but I do think regular Boss in the Kona blue with the white acents, looks pretty sharp...... Not sure the LS in 13 will be much better with the shift to black and white cars with gold accents, very 80's trans-am like....

I wanted an LS but the color turned me off. If I could find a black one though, I would take it. If you are planning on tracking the car it seems to have a lot of the brake scoops and such already on it. (or actually in a box from the dealer).

Yep. If you get the black, you can put an inexpensive "wrap" on the orange roof. EXACT LS wheels available from Ford Racing right now and painted black instead of red. Retail on the rear wing is less than $400, I think so you can get one and paint it black. Easy enough to paint the mirrors. In total, a very small investment to convert it back to "normal". However, the odd color commbos are growing on me!!

Galpin has their LS for sale at a cool $100K. (They really don't want to sell it, I guess.)

If a LS, it is silver with red , or black with red. I prefer the silver. No other colors available on the LS until 13, then I believe it is white and black with gold accents.

I went with the Silver .I was a bit nervous on my color choice. It is clearly more impressive in person.I did get to see a black and Silver next to each other at the Ford proving grounds.
The proving grounds is a very impressive place.I had the pleasure of being invited out by Mark Mcgowan. If you ever get an invite or this opportunity do not pass it up!It was killing me listening to Andy(Specracer) telling me about his exploits at the Phoenix and Detroit Proving grounds!
I was humbled by Mark McGowans driting abilities on the wet and dry skid pads.He should be a Professional drifter! He would clean up!iMark was an awesome mentor/teacher .I learned more with Mark in one day than in last 5 years at the track!!Many, many thanks to Mark !!!The cool part is I got to drive a prototype Boss 302,a new Laguna Seca, and a Ford Gt.Need I say how cool and fun it was to drive with out speed limits and nothing to hit!!Mark keep talking about “The asphalt lake” Well when we got their, there was no water! But there a huge skid pad circuit! We even had lunch with the boss 302 development team!It was very cool to say the least! What a wonderful group of guys!Very educational.I couldn’t help but think,I wish I new Mark before I got my GT!I must say I can not say enough about how good the Boss 302 and Laguna Seca is.Simply awesome! They sure got it right with this car!
Of course Mark is the elder statesman of the bunch and the boss! They equate Mark next to God for his work on the Gt program! And rightfully so !!
Any way I cannot thank Mark enough for a truly memorable and fun day !!
Thank you for a very special day.
Even the flight home was a blast .I sat next to a gentleman who was the CEO of the company that developed the Kers system for the Mclaren F1 TEAM!
What a day!
