Don't know if there is such a thing as market for something that is almost unique (30 made?). The value gets established by a buyer/seller agreement, and then that value becomes an almost meaningless data point for future rare transactions.

This is the only one I've seen that is "X1 wheel delete."

The X1 sure looks good in Tungsten.

I hope your thoughts of GTX'ing the Heritage are long gone.

I thought about that thought, but I don't think. I think the GT Guys are still able to do the conversion but it is way pricey now that the entire recipe is known. It would also be a good candidate for a salvage title rebuild that could be done while the car is open.

There's a Tungsten with HRE wheels one near me and it's at the shop that does all of my work. What a complete piece of crap. It rides very badly, unstable and nothing like my GT. Fit and finish is about as bad as one can possible get in any car...crap not lining up, not fitting etc. It's an abortion as far as I can see, and if I read about Genaddi, he's got a very bad reputation for fleecing people. I think anyone paying 450k for that car needs to have their head examined. I don't see the value, at any price. I would maybe buy one for 150k to flip; not to own. I am not sure these cars will rise in value parallel to an unmolested FGT. A really bad execution of a cool idea IMO. No disrespect to anyone that owns one; that's just my .02 worth...FWIW

I had a good laugh reading the description - as elegant as it sounds. I don't believe from what I read, that any of these cars were built better than the one I saw. I know GT's are not the best fit and finish around, far from it, but, this one was a disaster. Never hit and low mileage, but a really low quality build. The biggest joke is the way they built the top of the front windshield...

I honestly don't think there was any real thought process or engineering in the build, beyond Genaddi saying, "Hey, let's chop the top and charge a lot of money". There was certainly no real engineering that went into the build...and what did I hear about those brakes on there? That they have some serious issues and most had to have them changed out IIRC?

I think Kip Ewing might argue with you.

He might, but honestly, I really don't have a lot of respect for him either. Ever try to buy anything from him? Have a good close look at a GTX1. You probably wouldn't argue with me after that...

Uh, thanks for the share.

It wouldn't surprise me that some of Genaddi's conversions, especially the later ones, were poorly finished. He was broke and running something of a Ponzi effort towards the end. The story is well documented.

My Tungsten GTX, number 13, was well made however(with some small exceptions), drives and handles great(compared to unmolested GT's), stops great(stock brakes intact).

It remains my favorite performance cruiser.

I've bought plenty from Kip. Never had an issue with his products.

He wasn't responsible for the Gennadi debacle. He designed the GTX and was jointly responsible for getting the first one ready for marketing duties is my understanding. It's an outstandingly B E A U T I F U L roadster. Just my 2 cents.

Don't blame the team for management's failure. Lots of outstanding design and engineering.

I'm not saying he was in any way responsible for Genaddi's failure - I have tried to buy parts from him a few times. He does not respond to e-mails, inquiries from the site or calls. Some others have noted the same thing. I have no idea whether his products stand up or not; just saying that I have zero respect for him in the way he does (or doesn't do) business...

As far as GTX build quality, the one I saw was beyond horrible. I don't think there was a single nut or bolt that wasn't falling off somewhere. The clamshell fit was awful, the paint very poor and there was much more wrong with it; too much to describe here. The suspension was a disaster as well. I really can't comment on yours or ones I have not seen...

I do agree on one point however; they are gorgeous cars.

...and that's what it will be for a very long time to come as well...for sale. I don't think there's a buyer at this high a price...
