As far as GTX build quality, the one I saw was beyond horrible. I don't think there was a single nut or bolt that wasn't falling off somewhere. The clamshell fit was awful, the paint very poor and there was much more wrong with it; too much to describe here. The suspension was a disaster as well. I really can't comment on yours or ones I have not seen....

I met the owner at the 2008 Woodward Cruise. Super nice guy. It's a shame you feel compelled to trash another owner's car. I hope you won't get the same treatment when/if you decide to sell yours.

Happy New Year.

Have seen a few of these cars myself.
It appears that the build quality was very variable.
Early production, late production, whatever.
We have all seen the posts and wars.
I would suggest that a member who has seen a car in person, and is just trying to protect a buyer, be given a little leeway.
Most here know what a good car looks like.
PPI always!
Best,
Mark

You met the owner of the car I saw here in Montreal?

The car is what it is...a very bad - and likely unsafe build. I have never met or talked to the owner, so I can't say anything about him, nor is this the place, but I wasn't in any way trashing him. Those were however, my observations and though I'm not a car builder, I do know enough about cars to know good from bad. I don't feel compelled (as you put it) to trash another owner's car, I simply expressed how I felt about what I saw.

If you're referring to the owner of the car for sale in the first post in this thread, I have never met him either. I don't know that car, but I do suspect it will not sell at 450k anytime in the near future.

It does seem to me that I'm not alone in my observations - not according to what I read here anyway.

If there are other GTX1's that were well built and finished, I'm happy for those who purchased them, but if 30 were completed and a number of them have cited issues, it doesn't say much for it overall. I do know that the one I saw looked to me as if it was not one of a kind in terms of it's build quality, but that was only a feeling, not something in fact I could prove.

Sorry if you feel I offended you in my post...

I do agree that I may have been harsh in my 1st post...and may have written it in such a way that someone might think that was the one for sale at 450K. It was not what I intended to write...I don't believe this one is the one for sale at 450k.

Happy new year to you as well!
