Remove what you can by hand then use Maguiars Cleaner Wax. I use it to get the build up off of mine and it works great.

I use several liberal applications of a foamy bug and tar remover. It'll eventually soften it enough to be removed without aggressive wiping. Afterwards clay bar and re-wax with whatever you use.

Next time try some Pam or Pledge on the inner fenders.

I sprayed my grill on my 68 GT500KR with Pam before I left on a 3000 mile drive last summer. The bugs wiped right off....

Which size tires are you running ? Would the 265/335 combo fit?

2112 - I am running the 245/45-18 & 315/40-19 Hoosiers R6s. The front tire is slightly smaller in diameter (4.25%) than OEM.

Ed, I think you meant to say 245/40-18.

Ford GTs at SAAC 35

I spotted eight Ford GTs at SAAC 35 in Sonoma. Among them were Mike Herman, Ed Sims, Tom Piana, and Charles Mori. Herman, Piana, and Sims ran the drags with their GTs on Friday afternoon. They were really flying! Although they all had trouble getting traction off the line, their ET's (in the 11's and 12's) and trap speeds (125-135mph!) were very good. I don't believe I saw any Ford GT get beaten by any kind of car other than another Ford GT.

Here are some pictures of Mike Herman putting away a replica Cobra:

And then....a sweet finish....12.3 seconds, 127.5mph!

Thanks Jeff, great pictures. Yep, the one time I did not get a bunch of tire spin off the line was when I raced against Ed Sims but I got caught peeking in the mirror and over revved 2nd gear and just coasted to the line. I think that run would have beaten my 11.99... Looking forward to doing this again with some GT guys soon... That was a fun weekend....

Regardless of the time it is obvious that a great time was had with many more to follow; IMO this in the end is all that counts.

All the best
