Congrats to Piana, a 135 terminal speed with only a pulley and tune!

Also, at 6'5" everyone asks "How do you fit in that thing?"
My answer:

"Go see Shadowman" Thanks Bill for dropping that seat, I could not have participated without it dropped wearing a helmet.

Hey, my first run was a 135.62 mph/11.341 sec. No reward? Of course I was spinning in every gear including 4th. I have the hp but not the reflexes of Piana! I think his 0-60 was under 2 sec!

Ed

PS I think Piana beat me in 1/4 mile time but I left thinking I had the 1/4 speed. Piana - what do your slips tell you?

That is a nice 1/4 mile time and a great big end speed

Now if only the opportunity to do it more often and you would nix Piano; he does have the reflects and stays with the gal no matter she tosses him; this is the old drag racer in him.

Takes care

Ed, I think I had you guys mixed up unless you both ran 135?!?! He just said a Ford GT, I missed your first run. Did piana also run 135?

Also, I did not use 4th gear, redline was the finish line so I just went 1-2-3

All I know is that was some serious fun.

Is it just me, or is that white GT really really low?

You could fit a credit card under it, that's about it. It looks and sounds mean.

I beat Piana so he owes me a beer. Here are a few photos from the event I took. mHerman's Heritage was very cool in person. Thanks to Black Ice for helping with the TC & LC tuning. It's almost completely dialed in. My GT is the white one & it is lowered but not too crazy. I had a great time. Everyone was blown away with the sound & power of our GTs. The money was on a Cobra to beat us.

Ed

PS The most impressive run was when someone told Piana the secret to beating me was to start in 2nd gear. He had a burnout from the start to over half way down the strip! Wild display!

Noticed that as well. Think it looks great.

original Fords

Original 427 Cobra (no sidepipes!) & original GT40 MkIV at the event. There were lots more cool Fords.

Here is a video, This was 127 MPH, 11.99 1/4 mile.

I have Bridgstone Scuderia's on the car. I got a little wheel hop but 1st gear is tricky, you have to feather it a bit or get traction control. I red lined both shifts....

Which size tires are you running ? Would the 265/335 combo fit?

Here is proof the Rev Limiter in the GT works.... I was racing Ed Sims in this video, probably the best start I had all day, very little spin off the line. I was looking in my right rear view mirror because I knew Ed would probably be coming, Rookie Mistake, It hit 7000+ rpm's and it cut the power on it's own. I just coasted to the finish instead of shifting hoping I didn't hurt anything. I think Ed did a kick ass burnout on this start. We spent all day experimenting with launch rpm's, it was actually fun. We had the drag strip to ourselves for about 45 mins after the other cars left.

Oh you gotta love that! Shred that rubber!

That's from the track. Everyone leaves behind some, and if your tires don't hook up this is the stuff you get. It's really hard to get off the rear bumper area where it curves back. I used blue tape on the painted areas after my first time. I leave it under the fenderwells. First - it's a pain to remove the tires to remove it and second it builds up pretty thick. I consider it undercoating.

Remove what you can by hand then use Maguiars Cleaner Wax. I use it to get the build up off of mine and it works great.
