Also would you care to share what your old fashioned scientific process found? I have my suspicions, but I rather hear it from the horse's mouth. It would most likely be of great benefit to others running the same TT system.

I will start a new thread in a bit with the intent of sharing some insight. I'm not so sure astute people like you will get much from it as I think you've probably kept pretty good track of the path we've been on. We did, with the help of Jason and others, improve on a few components that, in retrospect probably wouldn't surprise anyone.

We also had a couple of opportunities to laugh at ourselves. Several days before the last (successful) dyno day you may recall that we had the car on the dyno and experienced fuel pressure anomolies that prevented us from doing any tuning North of 20psi. Many potential failure points were going through my mind (bad fuel pumps, clogged filters, bad relays, etc.) and we brought the car back home to begin diagnosis. Fortunately, it didn't take us long to pinpoint that it was OUR work that led to the problem. It was as simple as a bad ground at the BAP. A very fast and easy fix and a proof point that as careful and methodical as you try to be, errors can still be made!!

Thanks Kendall. I look forward to reading your new thread.

I have had my share of wiring issues as well. I was working on rev 2 of the prototype TC system and the wheel sensors wouldn't work now at all, where in previous tests, with my external rev 1 wiring, were fine. I was frustrated and was pondering how to proceed. I quick call to Shadowman calmed me down and he suggested I check the ground leads which I did with a oscilloscope. The ground trace has more than a volt of noise! I separated the supply ground from the signal ground and all was well. I should have done that in the first place, a dumb lazy mistake!

Don't ask me about my installation of Kip's 2DIN where in my tests with the unit balanced on the center console all was well. When I mounted inside the dash my GPS antennae stop working! I was pissed, no sleep for a few days getting ready for the TX Rally and at only a day left I had to remove the 2DIN radio to find I didn't click the antennae wire in to the locked position so it fell out. A few hours of extra work because I made another mistake.

There are reasons why I only work on my own car.

Clinton, rest assured that I could make those same mistakes working on your car too! LOL

Get er Dun Soroush and we'll celebrate some good runs with a cocktail or two on Saturday night. :cheers

#34 has her war paint on. Bucephalus, Alexander the Great's horse was said to be elated when he was shod with armor and charging into battle, with steam billowing from his nose and sweat soaking his powerful shoulders. Somehow, a high performance car looks best to me when it is prepped, taped, and made ready to do what it was built to do. I've had so many great times in that yellow car.

V & I are leaving for Texas at 7 AM tomorrow (Wed.) morning. See you there.

You were only doing 85? You should be ashamed of yourself. If you report another trailer tire blow out make sure you were doing at least 100, you are in Texas now and we don't do anything half ass here.

Make a checklist of everything, and adhere to it...tire pressures, boost, clothing, shift revs, etc...just like a cockpit checkout. Have some great runs.

Hill climb.

Gentlemen,

I'm on site and my GT has been tech inspected. The good....as always, everybody is super nice, the airport is first rate, and Jason saved a great trailer space for me. The bad....this field is closer to the Gulf than Goliad and the wind blows HARD all day long and they are running us straight dead into that head wind. Uh, OK. Next the runway is not level, it has a 1 to 2% grade. Not only have they decided to run us straight into the wind, we are running UPHILL!! WTF??? Unlike past Texas Miles that sold out in a day with a long waiting list, this event is not full. It looks like there is 1/2 the cars as last year.

I expected high temps and high humidity, but combining those two with big constant headwinds and an uphill grade may kill this event because speeds are going to be much lower. Honestly, when I got here today and saw how they set it up, my heart sank. An 1100 mile trailer pull so I can run a high speed hill climb. The old Texas Mile was run slightly downhill and the prevailing headwind was at least quartering.

If a good # is run tomorrow, the drivers first thought will be "What would my speed have been if I had run this on level ground?". Oh well, enough bitching. Tomorrow we drive. I'll keep you posted.

Chip

Sounds like they planned this to handicap the field. :ack The good news is your car is a monster and the great aero these GTs have will certainly help, Make good efficient shifts to stay in boost and I bet you will get a great run in. I will be cheering you on and waiting like a little kid to hear your updates!:thumbsup

Texas Mile Hill Climb.....lol

I'll get my Vbox in a car and see what the incline is.

Friday might be the day for the bigger speeds as Saturday and Sunday are suppose to have strong headwinds.
