2005 oil pump drive belt

Has anyone had any luck getting an OEM oil pump belt or is everyone using the Contitech? Has anyone had a failure with the Contitech?

Seems like OEM belt is available now and then, I bought one last year from local Ford dealer.

Have no idea what's available now, many members here more up to date on that that me.

I’ve been waiting all summer on Continental Y-720 belt for my 05’ GT. It seems these continue to be back ordered. Is the an alternative belt in Motorcraft or otherwise I could search for?

Isn’t there an old thread about this? I got mine from a Ford dealer ( with proofof GT ownership) but I’m sure that someone had sourced an appropriate belt from an industrial source

I've installed several Contitechs over the last couple years with no problem. One car has several track days and all is good.

I ordered the OEM belt 4G7Z-6B651-AA from OEMFordPartsDirect.com in May for $150. Looks like it is still available. Tasca shows it available too.

Check for manufacture date. I don't believe that they have had any made in a LONG time. The Contitech seems as good or better - with recent manufacture dates. To each his own....

Grainger has it as well part number 45PL36.

I paid $64 a few weeks ago. As an aside I’m flying to Jersey to get my car in a few hours, driving it home and trying to avoid the white stuff on the way back to St Louis

Thanks, been tracking it for a few days. Eastern Seaboard is dry today. Think we are going to run down 81 to Knoxville tonight. Puts us on the correct side of the Smokies with only Rain to deal with Saturday and Sunday. Detail guy already scheduled to meet the car Monday morning at my shop.
