Hey guys, many of you may think that I gave up or sold the project, but I did not! I'm making great progress and I hope to have the car running by the end of the year. I spent more time working on the project than sitting at the computer updating my progress, but I feel that I left a lot of you hanging, so here goes. I will try to do a cliff notes version in this "catch up" post. So I've been collecting a lot of parts, made a road trip...
And I've been making a lot more parts... Cooling tube bushings, Gas Pedal, Degass tanks, widebody control arms, gas tank filler mechanism
Where is the car today?
Complete interior wiring harness, IP pedals, HVAC, seat belts, brake booster are in. All the tube bundles are in and the bottom of the car is buttoned up.
Also found some pretty cool GTX1 rotors and calipers. These are 6 piston and larger diameter than stock. I had never heard of the GTX1 car until someone came out of the woodwork. He also had some coilovers from the GTX1 car.
Next steps?
The bushings are still alive!
They will be pressed into the new widebody control arms and mounted, the rest of the cooling system will be connected, the front wiring harness that I have is a mess and I will have to splice and dice to get it done right. A few more connections like AC, power steering, brake lines will be needed, but once the cooling system and front electrical is done, I will actually be able to try and start the car, which will definitely be happening this year. The doors and widebody bodywork will come later.
If anyone has some parts lying around, I am looking for a drivers door and a passenger mirror!
Sorry for going dark for a while, but I will make a point to keep this updated more often!
