New GT website live, purchase process begins January 2016

They’re probably debating whether the escrow tied to the application for weeding out the looky-loo’s ought to be $50k or $100k. Looks like the stock market lately may change some wannabe's into looky-loo’s.

    White one at naias

So no chance of someone realizing later they forgot to bolt on a truck bumper to that tail?

    Amazing mirrors

Happen to notice on a video of the blue NFGT in Europe, firstly how La Ferrari-esque the mirror-pods-on-a-stick look... and secondly how they disappear as you drive up the trailer ramps... So, seriously, should we expect them to be easily removable, or maybe motor driven retractable for...

TWO airbag recalls in one letter.

I had Sill-Terhar Ford from Broomfield do the work, they're just ten minutes away. Here's a picture of a new cap. May be hard to see but there's three barbed tabs and one longer tab for clocking. The part no. is 4G7V-3L518-AAW-M1F3A. (anyone see the value of a good steak dinner in there?)

TWO airbag recalls in one letter.

A forewarning: I had the inflators replaced on our two GT's a couple of months ago. To access the inflators there's a screw on either side of the steering column that have to be removed, then the horn switch /airbag cover lifts off. The screw heads are hidden behind plastic caps that need to get...

    FGT Oil Pump Drive Belt

Seems like this was a forum topic a while back but can't recall the discussion: If the GT motor loses oil pressure, is there ANY kind of electronic action taken besides the needle on the gage going to 0 and the yellow engine idiot light? a warning chime, ignition cutout? I'm guessing the layers...

    My son

Thank you all for your prayers and condolences. The immense amount of support from family, faith, and friends is helping us through this painful time. I consider myself a modest person but never miss an opportunity to brag about our kids. We've been so blessed.

    My son

I have to share a story about our son, Corey. He’s the youngest of our three kids. A big sports fan, my racquetball buddy, and a best friend. He is every parents dream kid: polite, respectful, warm hearted, funny, gregarious, etc. The “A” student college freshman that never got in trouble...

Thoughts on these rear diffusers? Accident Damage?

Heat shield may be its secondary function, but without that bracket the 40 lb muffler is entirely supported only by the exhaust manifolds through the cats. Driving with the factory muffler and "heat shield" removed would be a bad thing, aside from what little heat shielding it may actually do.

Thoughts on these rear diffusers? Accident Damage?

The "heat Shield" plate is actually the muffler support bracket, not needed obviously once the muffler is removed for the X pipe so no concern that it's missing.

    GT500 Engine Similarities to FGT

Regarding the SAE paper that Bill referenced, there's a book compiling all of the SAE papers on the GT: 7 from the 60's plus 11 from the next gen development. Should be good reading for the techno types. (link: http://books.sae.org/pt-113/)

How many members will pay 400K and are interested in buying new GT..

Surely there's a kit car company out there working on a 16' rendition that we less fortunate types will jump at, just like in the 70's! (not my car, honest)

    Best Penetrating Oils

I had a chemist friend do an analysis on the makeup of WD-40: Kerosene and lard, which means that you may not want to use it on your pancakes if it's old since it could go rancid.

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

Thanks for the info Scott. On my other point about water injection, it now makes sense that a S/C motor would see more benefits from it than a turbo'd one since it runs hotter (less efficient). Do you know roughly the air temps on either side of the GT's intercooler given say a 70 or 80 deg...

    '16 GT (predicted) options list

Good points Tony and Dave, but unlike the McLaren or even the 918, Aventador, etc., this is a race car trying to be a street car instead of vice versa, and Ford knows as well as anyone they'd all sell even if there was only one color and no options. I'm still guessing it'll be a very short...

    '16 GT (predicted) options list

Have there been any rumors yet on the options? Besides colors, I'm thinking that the options list will be even shorter than the 0506: 1) wheels: either forged or C.F. 2) street version"R" package to include radio-delete, softer tires, CF wheels, stiffer suspension, A/C-delete That's it. No...

No longer think FGT taillights are off the charts expensive

Ultimately, if not already, the parts pricing is going to hurt values as people shy away from buying in. "Lets see, it's going to cost me over $10k to replace that fogged headlight, torn drivers seat, and cracked plastic vent on the clamshell, and you're asking how much for the car?"

Goodyear tires and the 2005 Ford GT

I understand the thermodynamics, to re-phrase though; given a S/C motor and a turb'd motor both putting out the same HP at the same rpm and OAT, why might the S/C motor have higher HP than the turbo motor when they're both working now at 40F vs 70F. But, as you implied there could be an...
