Wonderful weather here over the weekend. I had a new set of Hoosier R6's mounted. Heat cycled them Sat. and ran some track sessions on Sunday at MSR. Here's some video from a member of our group who runs a Porsche Cayman. Once he passed me I had a target to follow and my lap times dropped significantly. My next purchase will be a bullet cam and DVR.

Awesome !

Great video. Nice that you could follow an experienced driver, with a pretty good line. :thumbsup

is that MSR in Houston? looked like fun!

Cayman driver was very good. Glad you had fun.

Looks GREAT AJ.

You know, and please don't take this the wrong way, I'm really glad that you didn't sell your E-type coupe to me! :lol Cause if you did, I wouldn't have gotten the most amazing car on the planet!!! :thumbsup:cheers

It's the "original" MSR near Fort Worth. I live 12 miles from the track. I slap on the Hoosiers at my house, drive to the track for fun, and then home. I get the "need for speed" out of my system without the risk of tickets and road obstacles.

Do you know what recording system he was using ?

Great vid..... I sit here listening to my wife talk to my son on a speaker phone from another room straightening college finances in his last semester thinking - ......BOY What a RIDE! .......I REALLY WISH I WAS IN ANY FGT NOW!

Thanks for the post

:eek MAN, that Cayman is quiet!!!!! :eek

Traqmate system with a bullet cam video input. All of the info (video, rpms, speed and GPS of track) is then merged. I'm looking at that system. Lots of quys here have them.

Cayman s !??

Just one question here, a Cayman was quicker than the GT with Hoosiers ? Someone wasn't pushing it i guess.
Nice footage

Its all the driver .
Power is nothing with out ability.
Getting a really great instructor will change your world !!

Very true and MSR is a tight course... it is made for light weight cars. A good driver in an elise would have passed both of you. The Porsche driver was making a very pretty line tho.

Mark is correct. Track is tight and technical. Longest straight is prob less than 1000 ft. I've seen Spec Miata's with 120 HP motors torture Vipers, Vettes and Porsches. My lines improved as the day went on. I was able to keep up with a race prepped MX-5 Cup car later on. At 3800 lbs. (inc. a passenger), that was a hand full. In a couple of weeks, I'm taking my 1100 lb. Caterham out there....should be a different story. :biggrin

Looks like a fun track - I enjoyed that.

The Porsche driver looked very tidy, I thought he was going to rear end you towards the end of the video. :eek

I have to say that when I (rarely) track my GT, I don't drive it on the edge - I'm too conscious of how rare those spare parts are!

Geez Doc, you and I have the same tastes in cars!! Almost got your E-type, ended up with an FGT, and I've always loved Sevens!! When I lived in the UK, one of my friends was dating Graham Nearn's son. So of course I got LOTS of drives in some very special 7's. What a fantastic car, especially when you've got English B roads to drive it on, or a nice tight track!!! :thumbsup

Great car the 7. What colour is yours? I so want a Patrick McGoohan "Prisoner" colour. Do post up a vid of your Cat7 run, I'll be interested to see it. :cheers

My car is a 2000 R500 Superlight. It's yellow with black fenders. I call it the "School Bus". Just dropped in a fresh Zetec motor with FI and a ported head. Makes about 190 HP at the wheels. Should go like stink. I'll post up some pics and video when I get a chance.
