Wiper inserts

Thought I’d pass this along. I was not willing to replace my entire stock blade assembly so I was able to replace just the wiper inserts on my ‘05 with “TRIDON AS-24T.”
Although they are all black plastic and do not have the stainless sliders of the originals they fit perfectly.
It’s getting more challenging every year to find someone who stocks anything but complete blades.

The plastic vs stainless blade may have issues at 200+ in the rain. Just sayin'

Recently went thru the research task of finding the blade inserts or refills. Mine were the narrow 6mm wiper blade x 24 inches long. Here are the part numbers for the refill which is the rubber blade and two stainless side rails. These will slide into the OEM blade assembly.

6mm Wide x 24 Inches
NAPA No: WIP 62401, or 6-2401, or 62401
NAPA does carry them, just bought two. About $7.50 each.

TRICO No: 45-245

I order inserts off Amazon. I too want the use the original arms (other cars as well). Last week got the correct width (6mm) and it was a "snap to fit" had the stainless strips, that you broke to length. They worked perfectly. Again not for the GT.

I make the fiberglass inserts for both the hood and fender. They two face tape on once painted.

Tried NAPA, part numbers for blades no longer exist, 6 mm blades tough to find. Would like to keep stock arms, any suggestions?

There is a long, old thread here someplace started by Ralphie about these and the substitute numbers.

I may have misremembered—seems I recall that they are the same as some models of F150.

The blades from Ford, just blades? Or entire blade assembly?, are they different?

Entire blade, no arm. The part that has the wiper fluid line going to it, includes rubber, and snaps onto arm.

Motorcraft part number is WW2422 - as far as I'm aware this was only ever a Ford GT fitment.
Haven't had a problem getting them from Ford so far..
