Close the gate behind you!! Well I just got back to S. FL Thurs. afternoon. What a drive!! It was worth every minute! I want to thank DBK and all parties who helped put this thing together !! :cheers It was great to see some old friends and to make some new ones..
I applaud all of those who attended. For those who traveled great distances you get extra credit..:thumbsup. It was so cool to see that many GT's in one place. On my trip home I had time to reflect on the people and the weeks events.
As I traveled from one side of this great country to the other I was reminded how lucky we are to enjoy this freedom and these magnificent machines. And If I can steal Bony's sig.. "God Bless America !!!"

We're stopped somewhere in Missouri for a minute before we head to pick up my sister in Chicago. Hopefully I'll be in Detroit late tonight.

Nice to meet you Stormcat, and nice to see all the whirring lights and crazy electronics in the tungsten :banana

I had a shorter drive home (Camarillo, near Ventura), but you are all right about the quality of the people and appreciation for Dave's hard work. :thumbsup

My GT had to bow out early because of a failed rear shock, but I already had it fixed on Tuesday under warranty (along with the door trim TSB) and she's back to her smooth self. Add in The GT Guys work to make it faster (and cooler, and quicker shifting) and you have one fabulous lady!

Love hearing about all these cars driving so far, and glad everyone's (almost) home safe (let us know when you make it back Dave!).

Great meeting you all and thanks for reminding me of the quality people this vehicle attracts. Another bonus of Ford GT ownership I couldn't have foreseen -- but surely appreciate!

G.B. America!!! :cheers

Just Closed The Gate

We finally made it back home with stops along the way at Shelby’s facility in Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, the WhiteSandsMissileRange, and the Carlsbad Caverns.

Machine ran excellent as usual

Outside air temps = 100+ f

Travel speeds = 100+ mph

Gas mileage = POOR

Commentary by Mrs. Spirit = NON STOP [as usual]

Traveled the back roads of Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas to get home.

I must admit that it did cross my mind once or twice, “What the heck will I do if this thing has a problem out here?” [told Mrs. Spirit she might have a little bit of a walk to find a repair facility].

Great trip, Great Event, Great People, Great Fun.

Was good to see all of you fine GT Folks again.

And many thanks to ALL who made this Event such a success.

My two sons and I got home on Thursday as planned. I called my convoy partner, Tony (Cobra) this morning to see how he was coming along. He was in Indianapolis, and informed me that he had received two speeding tickets during the last two days, and received a third violation for pulling a trailer on I-70 through Indianapolis (Huh?..No kidding) For those who travelled with us from Scottsdale to Newport Beach, you will remember that Tony beat all of the 22 GT's driving his truck and trailer. (I wonder how he avoided tickets for two weeks!). With his return this evening, I believe that all of the rally attendees are now safely at home. Can't wait until next time! Dave...Thanks for the hard work. We'll have to have lunch to discuss next year.:cheers

Haven't heard from She's got legs. Knew he was hanging in Newport for a few days before the trek back to Toronto.

You're right! Terry was taking some additional time in California before driving back to Toronto. I think that he told my son he would not be home until next week, so I stand corrected, there is still a lone soldier from the rally working his way home!

yeah, he was taking an extra week with the whole family and then switching sons and doing the tour back to canada. Hope he runs through this neck of the woods and we can have a bite to eat. Hope he checks in ... or we might have to play where in the world is "she's got legs"?

My buddy and I drove home from the Rally to Boston and we made it home Friday. When I pulled into the garage the trip odometer on the GT read 3333.8 I should have moved further down the street! Great ride back minus the rain each night but NO tickets. Had never seen the grand canyon prior to this trip!

It has been a week since I got home. I am having Rally withdrawls, woke up with a sweat and a shake this morning.
