Very nicely put.

Personally I do not own a Ferrari because of the majority of owner type 1-5 vs 6 (or maybe it's just MY personal perceptions that there are more 1-5 than 6).

Also I have the perception (maybe totally unjustified) that F-cars cannot take the abuse on the track the way a Porsche can.

I was a little tentative in taking the GT to the track as well. I was proved wrong and the car took it lap after lap (even though I go through tires as if there is no tomorrow, cracked a set of front rotors in 9k miles and add to install a tranny cooler).

I am also often asked why I don't own a Ferrari. On top of it I am Italian and was born and raised in Milan. A Ferrari should be at the top of my list... but sadly it isn't.

The only Italian cars I would consider today are a Maserati GT and, like Bony, a Miura SV.

I just bought a new 430 Spider. Traded a Maserati Q portte that constantly was in the shop , trans , vanity lights falling off of rearview mirrors and underneth doors , rattles etc....beautiful car , but build quality??? I am a car guy that drives them. ( just turned 10K an my GT) ...unfortunately my wife had to have a white Qporrte and I could not find a used one ...bought new 2006 for 121K and traded in for 67K...pretty expensive car. Hopefully the 430 will hold its value better. I did see the new Grand Turismo in the flesh...stunning...but would I have another one???

Ouch, that's a major hit of $54k or 45% depreciation in a year. Is the 430 the wife's replacement car? Give us your thoughts on the Fcar when you can.

We both will drive the 430...she says the GT is my sports car.She will not drive the GT because she is scared of it. The first time she rode in the GT, even though I warned her, she bloodied her nose on the door getting out...I bought an 06 Flying Spur that really replaced the Qporrte a year ago or so. The 430 is much improved over the 360 , which was better than the 355...an man the song it sings at 8500 RPM !!!! It is so tight that it made me realize how many rattles I have in the GT. I asked in another post what you guys thought about sending a GT to Saleen for a complete going over???

kosupply,

You are going to love your new 430. I just sold mine with 4k miles and took delivery of a new 599. Both the 430 and the 599 are fantastic cars but nothing tops my Ford GT!

Man I want a 430! i love em! I was thinking of getting a Gallardo, or 360F1. 430s are too high still, but like you gys say nothing compares to our GTs!

Why did you trade and how do you like the 599?

I was offered a crazy price for the 430 and couln't turn it down. The week prior to the offer on my 430 my 599 was delivered so I took the offer. Now that I have had a week in the 599 I have no regrets.

The 599 is awesome.....but whew...the price ...driving in Houston , there is a good chance of something happening to a car....between bad drivers, crappy roads, and debris in the roads..I have had a palm tree, a car hood, and a battery fall in front of me on the freeway ( all in the same car!! They were laughing at me at the dealership) .I am going to have to wait until they come down some before I can pull the trigger....
