KJRGT
Well, if you are arriving south of Provo after about 6 PM, kinda like LA, you should be okay. If you are arriving into the Provo area between 3-6, you will be delayed and in the traffic problem. I think if you leave Las Vegas, after 12 noon, you will probably miss it. It is an early week day so less traffic along I-15 until you reach American Fork or Spanish Fork area, then the traffic starts. Its not immovable traffic, but if you are driving a GT through it stop and go in hot weather, may not be what your dreamed of.
When you get north of Provo, up the hill and when you can see the Salt Lake Valley, that is called the "Point of the Mountain", on the right will be Widowmaker Hill, famous motorcycle hill, on the left is the Utah State Prison, Gary Gilmore and Ted Bundy were inmates there. Gary Mark Gilmore (December 4, 1940 – January 17, 1977) was an American criminal, and murderer, who gained international notoriety for demanding that his own death sentence be fulfilled following two murders he committed in Utah. He became the first person executed in the United States after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a new series of death penalty statutes in the 1976 decision Gregg v. Georgia (these new statutes avoiding the problems that had led earlier death penalty statutes to be deemed unconstitutional in Furman v. Georgia). Gilmore was executed by firing squad in 1977.
Sort of local Utah Fame!!!
