Who is going to Monterery/ Carmel this week for the Historics ?

WTF is with all those hats?

The sun was very bright each day - the souvenir store even ran out of sunscreen. Very warm & direct sun.

Typical NorCal coastal summer weather - overcast in morning & then it burns off to 65 degrees. But only 10 miles inland at the track it'll be 75! If you go to Salinas 25 miles away it can be 90!

Thanks Ralphie and Ed for the nice photo's.

Some Day I'll be there for the Historic's. It's on my bucket list.

Come next year Jeff! It's not official yet but the featured marque will probably be the Corvette as 2013 will be the 60th anniversary of the Vette. This year was definitely the Ford lovers year but let's celebrate with those Chevy lovers in 2013. It's still American!

PS However, don't expect to see a Chevy sell for $10M that weekend!

Hey Frank, I did not wear a hat and my face got a bit cooked!

U r correct, it got off the track when he was tracking out at turn 5. Since it is a fast "pedal 7" effort turn because of the banked section, the driver might have freaked and lifted as he was tracking out and got off the track and hit the tire wall. Did not look as if it was anywhere near being total'd. I actually have pix of his accident because I was parked at turn 5 in the Ferraris corral and the corral tent was at the apex of turn 5.

I heard that an original Daytona Coupe smashed the front end in turn 5 while we were there but I didn't witness it. I was told it was one of the Daytona's that raced at LeMans but that it's fixable. It's not a total.

Hey GTEd - why were you hanging with the F-club? The GT owners missed you in our turn 2 paddock spot.

Well...., I was too late on trying to buy a corral pass with the Shelby gang..., so I decided to hangout among the "enemy", hahaha. No, they are actually pretty nice folks as well.
