Sorry, did I miss a thread with a story on this??
I realize that team is full of BS, remember that from their claim to be world record holders at 220 something MPH - just wanted to know the score on the new record claim...

I know I'm not a daily visitor on the forum, but please bare with me:cheers

Thank you Sir - a little help beats popcorn ;-)

Is Ray not the record holder ?

Johnny Rocket is the man to be until proven otherwise....

With respect, I think you are in the minority Freddy.

No matter what people on this and other car forum believe, 99%+ of the people in the world are going to believe the Guinness book entry for Johnny over anything written here.

Taboo subjects on this forum, politics, religion, and Johnny...

Probably best.

The last one to be tossed off the island will not be decided until both cars appear together on an agreed upon track. Hell will freeze over first.

Show me.

Honestly, given my dealings with them, I think they are capable of the speed. Unfortunately the method by which they obtained the record brings a dark cloud to this community. Either way, the record speed has a picture of a Ford GT beside it.

I thought the 283 was what they saw on the cars's speedo and took that as the actual speed!

283-mph ford gt

RearFord GT World 6.jpgRECORD.jpgAnytime I get the opportunity to showcase our favorite marque - Ford GT -I take it. Always lots of controversies over record-setting, but thought I'd publish something on Bohmer's IMRA record-holding GT in the Car Guy Chronicles: http://www.carguychronicles.com/2013/01/ford-gt-worlds-fastest-street-car.html#more

1800hp will get you to 270. To make 300 in a mile in a GT you'll need 2500 horses. To hit 283 without help from the wind, rolling starts, or other stuff I think you'd need just shy of 2100 hp

Texas Mile registration is tomorrow. Would love to see any and all that are able to attend make it out. I think the date is March 22-24th. I plan on making a showing depending on schedule. Guess I need to change my mph in picture below to new Texas Mile Record of 263.3mph.
