Guys,

had the pleasure of Cooltech flying out to my place to install my whipple 3.4. Purchased through cooltech with the 1 day sale the whipple authorized in december. Very painless! woohoo! i love painless!!

Then, at kendall's suggestion, his son flew out to do his 7th whipple install. I think it was in the neighborhood of 4 hrs or so. Very meticulous, the car looked as clean after as it did before the install.

I'm mostly done with the remote tune by torrie. 715 rwhp/690 rwtq, 19 psi, 91 octane. Mostly, because torrie wanted a couple of pulls to make sure there was no detonation... and at 530pm, the traffic is aholes to elbows out there... top speed is maybe 60ish... max.

On the same dyno last year i put down 620 rwhp/590 rwtq 15 psi/91 octane fwiw.

car is... uhm. well. i almost knocked myself off on the drive home... punched it at 65ish... car started sliding... and that was after 30 minutes of driving, so i presume the tires were warm... I guess i'm going to have to say farewell to the 2nd gear hard roll on... moving on to hard 3rd gear roll ons...

yeah. a terrible problem to have...heck i'm starting to think the 17psi pulley would have been better..... it's THAT fast...

I have had that exact team work on my car too, there are none better!:cheers Isn't Ryan great! :thumbsupThat guy is so good and careful with his work. Torrie sure is the icing on the cake.:biggrin
Have fun, but as you have already learned, be careful.:driving:

As Sgt. Phil Esterhaus (Michael Conrad) often said on Hill Street Blues, "Let's be careful out there ..."

(Edit: I guess Apollo already said that! :lol)

Glad you are happy with the new Whipple, the Cooltech team is quite an asset for those of us on the left coast.
You got a taste of Lesson #1 while stepping hard on a GT throttle....warm tires are great, but a cold street trumps them.

You may want to consider Hoosiers. Especially in AZ. No other tire will give you better traction. There are many threads & posts regarding tire selection.

I agree as we average 350 days of sunshine a year here. I feel much more secure on the Hoosiers, street or track.

I need new tires for the FGT Mojave event and was vacillating between Hoosiers and Bridgestones. Ed was always telling me Hoosiers now Chip as well, so Hoosiers it will be. :thumbsup
