Looks like I need a new battery terminal bolt and nut, I believe it is 10/32 carriage bolt and lock washer with serrated flange or at least that is what was on there. Is that what came from the factory? Would a local hardware store have what I need?

Both cables have the same bolt. I have never taken the bolt out all the way, just loosened it to slip off the terminal. I thought it was meant not to be removed all the way. I clipped my ring terminals an removed about 25% of the ring to slide in between cable and terminal. Has worked for 15 years.

That is certainly one way to do it and maybe I will. I had to take the bolts out because the old tender was connected between the head of the bolt and the terminal. My plan was to hook this one up the same way but maybe Ill try you way. Either way I lost the nut and will just refresh the bolt as well since it’s not in great shape.

I can tell you that Ford doesn’t have the bolts. I bought some from McMaster-Carr but they are a little longer and use just a standard nylock nut.

Any appropriate size nut and bolt will do. It is not a high-torque or high-vibration application.

The bolt is a carriage style. Because of the location it's definitely nice that it is. A new neg cable from Ford is $35 and comes with the bolt if you want to keep it all Ford. You could put the bolt on the pos side if needed there and have a spare cable for dust collection.
