I have had Sprint for cellular service since they started offering it on "DAY 1". As of late though - last three months, I keep getting a Network Busy and many dropped off calls. My contract expired 2 years ago and I have not bothered changing plans because I have been grandfathered under an old plan that is all inclusive for 10 phones and lets just say huge # of minutes for little $.

I was hoping it is a temporary thing, but I have talked to many Sprint users here in SoCal and they all tell me they are switching to Verizon because they are the most reliable.

Any one with Sprint or Verizon care to comment.

I've been with Verizon for years and never had a pblm. No matter where I go, I always have at least 3 signal bars (I knew where everything would go if I'd just said "3 bars":lol).

In the northern most parts of Scottsdale (like Cave Creek for instance) when eveyone else's cell get's NO signal, my Verizon cell gets at least 3 bars. 'Same in the 'Frisco area or in SoCal, and of course Wash. St.

I think in all the years I've used Verizon, I've had a call dropped twice.

I've had Verizon since day one and no complaints. Some no signal areas in very rural areas, but great coverage everywhere else. No phone use in Europe though.

I have also had Sprint since they hit they hit SoCal. No major problems for me. I make calls from north OC to Downtown LA all day long. To be specific in your area though: I do have some probs on Mar Vista and spots at FHCC. The bend on Beverly is also a drop zone. Other than that Whittier is solid. And while traveling, no probs either.

Verizon is excellent coast to coast. Never had a problem.

Company has me going with AT&T for BlackBerry....what a load of crap.

maybe its a scheme to get all those who have had great plans grandfathered, out of the system so they can get customers to pay more, wouldnt surprise me a bit, they probably hired anderson consulting:biggrin

That was my 1st thought too, BUT, Sam seemed to indicate it's a pblm across the board for ALL Sprint customers.

Continental Telephone (AKA: Continental String & Can) pulled similiar stunts (line constantly busy, rotten signal coverage, etc.) to get all it's VHS mobile Phone customers in my area to "pack it in" back in the 80's when everyone was switching over to cell phones. So, your theory has some merit! :biggrin

Consumer Reports says Verizon is the best.

has anyone seen sprints financial statements recently? the rumors out there are not very good. massive loss of a customer base plus billions being spent on new tech in this economic environment could spell disaster.

as for me i have been with nextel since 03 and really liked their service. that all changed when they merged with sprint. today customer service and communication for sprint is atrocious. :thumbsdow

The problem with their network started when they introduced the $99 flat monthly rate that is all inclusive. This happened under their new CEO, which at the time was rumored to using this tactic to raise revenue quickly even though it meant unreliable communication. I've had 2 contracts since the beginnings of cellular AT&T (later LA Cellular) and Sprint. It looks like I will be changing to Verizon.

New question. Anyone has an all inclusive (single package) Verizon service? Home, Cell, FIOS, internet etc... Care to shed some costs please...
