What a journey....... Hi! I have been on this journey to purchase a particular GT for over 1.5 years. The journey has finally come to an end. I am officially a Ford GT owner as of this afternoon. I have been spectating from the sidelines for some time and been an avid reader of the forum since joining. It has become a daily read (2-3/day actually). I have spoken to some of you by phone but feel like I know many of you personally from reading the many informative forum posts and topics. This is by far the best forum period with the best memebers.....Members who genuinely share a common interest and desire to help fellow GT owners. My journey actually began back in 2003-2004. I'm repeating what's in my profile, but I actually sold these (units of allocation) to dealers back when we (Ford) first launched this vehicle all the way through production run (I'm a factory rep for Ford). I still have many of the original documents, etc. The GT became my dream car back then and I knew someday I would own one. Fast forward to 2010. My car #1474 was sitting in my dealer's showroom. It had been traded into a local Mercededs dealership who then sold it to my dealer. The GM (RIP Art) knew how badly I wanted this car and was even willing to work a deal for me. Alas, the timing was just not right. Unbeknownst to me, someone else purchased this vehicle on a whim. A year and a half later, my desire to purchase the elusive GT had grown even more as the prices were rising and the number available was decreasing. I was able to track down the gentlemen who purchased "my GT". I say "my" because it was everything I wanted and everthing I didn't want. It is a Red 2 option (Racing Stripes, and Red Calipers) mac delete, standard wheels....classic. I literally worked on this older gentlemen for over a year and a half. We almost had a deal last Nov- Dec and then things went left. I didn't give up. Fortunately, we closed the deal today even after almost going backwards last week. I am now the proud owner of Ford GT #1474 with 6100 miles on it and believe me when I tell you, this car is clean. It took some doing but my dream finally came true. Hard work definitely pays off. A special thanks to Ryan and Kendall from Cooltech for doing my PPI. Ryan came down on the spur of the moment and did an amazingly thorough job inspecting my car. I knew the car was solid but Ryan confirmed it and gave me that added boost of confidence. He even verified the highly desirable Billet A Arms. Thanks Ryan. The car is bone stock. I had already started purchasing accessories: Exoticare Billet shifter ball, bezel and boot sleeve, Cooltech Window savers, Brembo Brake decals, and Don's American Flag decals from Ford GT parts. I will be adding: Hot buttons, Upper Seat inserts, Halon Fire suppression system, Chrome Halon Fire extinguisher, Transaxle Cooler, FRPP muffler, Clear bra entire car, Clear Ceramic tint (keeps heat out), Front window film, and new tires. That should about do it. I look forward to interacting more with you all now as an owner. Thank you.
