VIR event (May 29-31, 2009) and NJMP event (July 17-18, 2009) by SVT Cobra Club

I'm sorry I missed your post Mark. Did the packet link work for you?

I wanted to post this as separate events but was told not to so it can be confusing.

The NJ event we are on the Thunderbolt course. That event is July 17-18, 2009.

The VIR event is on May 29-31, 2009. We have the full course on Friday. There is a group on the patriot course but that will not affect us. On Saturday/Sunday we have the "North" course, the larger of the two. The "VIR Club" will be on the south course. It was the reverse last year but due to the fact that our event last year had over 50 cars at the car show, they decided we needed the north course for this year.

CJ428, it would be cool to have a Ford GT in the show area. Enter the show and you can take your car out for parade laps. The show is 20 bucks, the spectator fee is 20 bucks. It's better to get in the show and get the extra people pass and free parade laps at lunch.

Yes, thanks.

Our Guest speaker for the event at the banquet will be John Clor of the Ford Performance Group. He is also the author of the "Mustang Dynasty."

John is a great speaker and that is a great book. He told me GT Joey has been trying to get him to write a no bs book about the GT.

This event is but a mere week and a couple of days away, and there are spots open for a few more cars. Joey is going wild on the Carlisle Event, as am I, but these track outings can be a blast.

. . . new oil, brake fluid, pads; spare rotors, pads, oil, filters, hose check, belt check, coolant check, new plugs . . . I know I am forgetting something.

Pete see you there, VIR is a great place a true motorsports country club environment.

There are now three Ford GT's coming out to run track, it'd be cool to have some more. Even if you don't want to run all weekend, you can enter the car show or do a "hyperdrive" where you take your car out for one run session. John Clor is a great speaker and has written numerous books. Just google his name for all of his referenced material.

Thanks for letting me post this event to fellow Ford enthusiasts. :cheers

If the weather is anywhere near as good as last year, it should be a blast, again.

VA?

NC?

Well, 2 days down and one more to go here at VIR and the FGT's have performed quite well. Friday on the 3.7 mile main course my neighbor Jim S. in his quick silver was just that in the advanced group. Simply put, he was flying. (XRAYMAN362) Mike & I were in the intermediate group and Mike became the class of that group in short order. Jim went home this morning and Mike and I remain pounding out laps on the 2.7 mile North Course with Mike, again, leading the way and I am slowly learning and not too far back. Will try and get the little video working so post some clips of me chasing Mike tomorrow; but I cannot get too close as he spits out huge balls of flame in a couple of areas.

We have talked it over with the SCMC group leader, Tony, and in October when they return for a Sat & Sun full course both day event; he will continue the same number of run groups (4), and make one strictly for FGT's if around 15 of us can show. Parades & Car Shows are fun, but there is absolutely nothing that beats tracking the cars, in my opinion.

We had a blast at VIR and you can visit our forums and checking out the photos there in the pictures/videos section: www.svtcobraclub.com/forums/

Some of you got the opportunity to attend an SCMC event in VA last month at VIR and we're glad you all had a good time. This year we are sharing that same passion with the northeast folks at the new facility of New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ. This event will have the same layout as our tenth anniversary with quality track time and a great opportunity to socialize with fellow Shelby, Mustang, and Ford GT owners. This is our first time at this facility so we're hoping to have a good turnout from all of the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic folks. The event dates are on a Friday/Saturday, July 17-18, 2009, as this time schedule seems to work out pretty good since it will give you a travel day to get home on Sunday.

You can find more information about the event by going here:

http://www.svtcobraclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16585

You can pay for the track on line by going here:

You can pay for the car show by going here:

We hope to see lots of Ford GT fans come out to the event and get an opportunity to share the same passion we have with our snakes.

Thanks,

Tony

We now have three Ford GTs signed up for our NJMP event next month. Several Shelbys signed up, too. This is going to be a lot of fun and if you are not into running your car, you can do the car show. We'll try to take some pics with just all Ford GT's on the track during lunch.

Another new event will be our Fall VIR event whicj=h has a date change of October 17-18, 2009 and is titled "Super Stang Fest" as the founders of SSF and SCMC are teaming up to bring you a bigger Mustang and Ford event this side of the country. Hope to see you all out there and be sure to visit our website at www.svtcobraclub.com for more information.

Thanks,

T

July 17-18, 2009 -- Millville, NJ -- New Jersey Motorsports Park

About a week away, though I see an event towards Boston on this forum that sounds pretty good, and there's Lime Rock, and there's Road America; but for my NY-NJ-PA-DE-MD-CT-VA group; we now have at least 4 FGT's signed up for the on-track portion of the event. Plenty of room in the infield, the car show, and who knows, I might need help replacing another power steering hose. . . . or driving tips.:willy

Tip: Slow In -- Fast Out:thumbsup

Pete==Just so there's NO confusion - I'm referring to the proper way to handle the gas into and out of the fuel tank.:banana

Jeff,

I cannot respond to that in any way that would make sense to anyone but myself. Maybe if they can serve me another BL sandwich like I got in Carlisle everything will be fine. With this x-pipe on now they'll probably kick me out for exceeding the db level.

Sure hope that doesn't happen. :ack

I didn't see the dB limit until they sent out the package last week. With my new accufab pipes, I'm now worried about noise too. Would have been nice to know about the sound limit before I signed up, got a hotel, etc. etc. If I can't drive, I'll be pissed.

I wouldn't give it another thought. I am still simply surprised how loud it is with the x-pipe.
