I really like this car.
Would they come up with 700-750HP next year ?
I read about supercharging the V10 from the factory. Was there any thruth to that ?

Impressive video. Makes me want to go out and buy one. Seems like a pretty good value.

The Viper is a cool car. I've always wanted one. The problem is when I sit in it it just feels wrong for me..Gas pedal under the steering column. Canted seat / leg position does not feel good to me and the car feels claustrophobic.. The sales of the new car have been less than anticipated. About 700 last year. I hope it can survive. They made a whopping jump from 640 to 645 HP , 2014 TO 2015.. 700 hp NA with than motor would be a stretch !!

The current Gen five Viper may be the most epic of all sports car fails. I had 11 Vipers from gen 1 to gen 4. I had an early order for a 13 and cancelled it after the absolutely miserable launch of the car.

Everything you are seeing ford do right, so far with the 17 , Dodge/Srt did horribly wrong with the gen five. Even with massive price drops, they linger.

So dumb it down for me. If I were looking to get a Viper, which one would you recommend and why?

It is all personal viewpoint, but I still think the Gen 2 GTS is still the most classic. A first year 96 holds its value. The Gen 2 - 4 is an acquired taste looks wise. Oddly the Gen 5 returned the Gen 2 look with better driving etc it's just that they should have changed it , made it more radical and more HP. They focused on creature comforts and it immediately got is ass handed to it by a four year old ZR1.

I am told the Gen 5 TAs ( track attack) are nice. If you want performance as of now I would look at a gen 4 ACR. Shelby recently had a beaut.

Don't kept caught up in the 1 of 50, 1 of whatever. Whenever things got slow, they did meaningless limited edition cars.

The cars are simple to mod except the five.

I got into a flame war with a guy on the Porsche Forum and he referred to my 99 GTS ACR as a Clown Shoe. I was devastated and never looked at the car the same way again.

The Viper is pretty much still untouchable by it's closest competition - the new Z06. It will take it in the streets and on the track. When the new Z06 hit a month or so back, the forums were littered with many disappointed potential Z06 buyers, because the Z kept getting its ass handed to it by the Gen V Viper (and still does).

Gen V Vipers are a very formidable opponent...not be messed with.

So true that they did a complete butcher job and underestimated the market with the launch of the Gen V...idiots. That said, Vipers were dead in the water by the last year of the Gen IV, with 500 being made and many left unsold for the longest time, including the so-called "limited editions".

I still love my Gen IV roadster, despite it missing any and all creature comforts, and being a seriously uncomfortable piece of shit to drive - LOL

Wow the Gen IV is that rough ?

I thought they changed the X pipe under cabin, insulated the side pipe exhaust to stop burns and a/c kept it cool inside ?!?

I see lots of Gen IVs for low $$$ on ebay and couldn't Undertand why
