If they bump the power up, is it still considered a "production car"?
Yeah but did they do it in a standing mile? :lol
:usa
The SSC Ultimate Aero held the previous record of 257 (rnd fig) which it ACHIEVED ON A PUBLIC HIGHWAY in eastern Washington...not some smooth-as-glass surface designed for 200+ mph runs. And since then, there have been a few tweeks made to IT as well.
I'm wondering just how long it'll be now (in light of this Veyron run) B4 SSC actually runs their latest offering on a PROPER surface to challenge the Bug car.
Sorry, but I dont think an SSC even comes close to a veyron at any level. The SSC is too "KIT CARish" for me to be considered a Production car. Anybody can go put a super high HP motor in a car and obtain speeds in the mid 200's, build 10 or 15 of them and call it a production car, but its the all around car in my opinion and the Veyron is lightyears ahead of the SSC. Plus, when you build 15 or so cars, I dont exactly call that a "PRODUCTION CAR"
Keep tellin yourself that oldman pockets.
P.S. There have been over 200 veyrons produced thus far.
No disrespect intended to anyone here that owns one, but I think the Veyron is a hideous looking car. For that money, I would have a warehouse full of other better looking cars including the SSC. I'm not taking sides, just expressing my taste in cars and the Veyron, does nothing for me, nor do french wines for that matter. A 20 year old Bridgette Bardot on the other hand, Yum Yum...
Unfortunately, time has NOT been as kind to her as it has to the afore mentioned wines...:frown:frown:frown
I think the wines did her in...
I think it was Shelby that posted the maint $$$ costs. Which included wheels and tires to keep the warranty.
So Bill, on this one I would disagree. My accountant was serious but one more headache in his garage to keep up was not his idea of fun.
Me I like the interior and the engineering feat that it is. (that's my positive)
Ray made us all realize our GT's can open a can of woopass on anything that walks this (rolls) this planet!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMO the Veyron is the top of the production food chain
This is a gal with all creature comforts and can be driven all day as basic transportation or exercised at an extreme level by do nothing more than activating the system with the security key and dare I say topping her off with pump grade fuel.
BTW I too heard that a number greater than 200 have been crerated and delivered.
All the best
