Veyron driver get a speeding ticket on CA Hwy 73. Speed 210+!

He should have did this at the TX mile, not on the highway.

Hmmmmmm - HE proudly posted the ticket on the net. :screwy:

'Looks like 'Ice & I arn't the only ones with similiar thoughts on the matter:

"david.fleason says:
This is really irresponsible. That area of the 73 is filled with animals crossing the road and lots of people living in the area. Despite the time of night you could have encountered traffic or obstructions at any time. Your flippant attitude is offensive.

Think of somebody doing this and having an accident that kills somebody you care about."

Can you imagine hitting a DEER at 210 mph???????? That'd amount to being hit by a 4 legged RPG.

'Moron.

'Wonder what the judge will hand out?

Did the car get confiscated? Usually that would amount to "Go Directly to Jail, Do Not Pass Go" and loss of license.

I live nearby and the ticket looks legit. All the information on it, court, zip code, etc. is correct. If I pulled that stunt, I would expect to be jailed at least for the evening, and I seriously doubt that I could get away with a $500 fine, he did circle the misdemeanor though...

Pockets is (pardon the pun) dead on about the deer becoming an RPG, or for that matter, a four legged claymore mine. A few years back, my neighbor hit a moderate size doe on Rt 51 south of Minoqua, while traveling @ 75 mph in a Ford Explorer. The deer came out of nowhere and basically disintegrated upon impact, destroying the whole passenger side front of the sport-ute. Joel said the impact was so great, he thought he hit a wall in the highway, and this was in daylight. After nearly rolling the Explorer, he managed to correct and stop the truck. Could've been a lot worse, especially if he had been driving a car where the deer would've no doubt gone through the windshield.
Can't imagine what a 200mph impact would do to whatever vehicle hit a 150lb or greater deer.

In excess of 155 use to be the fastest they could write you for in California. All I can say is thank God for the JAG officers. :lol Even back in the late 80's the ticket was more than $500.00 :thumbsdow:thumbsdow:thumbsdow:thumbsdow

So, what is the fastest ticket any one here has ever received, what state, what car, and what penalties?

"Google" revealed:

"The Koenigsegg CC is attributed with being awarded the fastest ever speeding ticket, 242mph in Texas, USA, during the Gumball 3000 rally race of 2003."

God only knows if that's gospel. 'Post didn't say what the penalty was.

(back in 1985) In excess of 155mph (on a 1984 Honda 100 interceptor moded) between Yucca Valley and 29 Palms in Cal. about $750 ... Penalties? Thank God for a company gunny that owed me one ... none... other than huge increase to insurance premium for a few years. :bored

A 22 year old driving a Veyron is THE formula for disaster... another 30 seconds and almost 2 miles later he would probably have reached 240+, traveling 1/4 mile every 3.75 seconds or until death(s) began occurring. If this guy owns the car, my guess this was not the first 200+ MPH sprint on a highway.

Did the deleted info say whether or not he claimed to be chasing a Red TT GT with Fla plates and a highly modified Hayabusa? :biggrin

Back in 2007, the officer that gave me the "no license plate" ticket told me that previously a Ford GT was traveling east on I-15 toward Las Vegas at a high rate of speed. They initially gave chase but the GT was later "radar-gunned" at over 190 mph on the freeway, so they only followed at a normal speed (~70-80) while radioing ahead, to prevent endangering traffic in a high speed chase (that they knew they couldn't win). The car was eventually stopped in Nevada. The car was confiscated, owner's license suspended, owner wound up in jail.

I'd say losing the GT was a pretty hefty price to pay....

Hearing stories like this make me proud the FGT 200 club is strictly limited to speeding at closed course highway and air strip events and even more proud there is not a X1 200 Club :cheers
