With a rumored 300 units per year and 1,200 max worldwide build most of us even those who can afford one will not be able to acquire one. Most will sit in collections, next to the 05-06 GT's. Ford would be crazy to price these at $250k, as the market would easily pay $500k and up.

So Cal
They're in the business to make money, there will be competition out there against it, at $500K forget about it.

From what I recall

-lots hype in '04, with first off charity auctions
-dealer gouge was short
-some flippers got stuck
-many deposit walk aways
-Gulf hard to move at $185K
-MSRP from mid '06
-below MSRP Sep-Dec '06
-Jan-Feb '07 dealers still recording sales

Same will happens here

Different economy and selling globally now, 75% less units built (1200 vs 4000) total. Ford built too many last time and charged too little. They have learned. Also, a paddle shift supercar has a larger audience as anyone will be able to drive it.

If it really is 300 units per year world wide, most dealers won't even have one in their showroom. I suspect there will be a lottery and only certain high volume dealers will be allowed to order.

Just like before. At every New Car Show Ford would draw 4 Cars from all dealers there (600) present. All that did was Piss every Dealer present off including me. 4 out of 600, I never had a chance to get one.

'06 was near high of stock, housing, private equity markets...+10% in '07

Think 5yr run will cure many ills v. 2yrs

SLR/SLS showed how tastes/buyers/markets change in 5yrs

Luckily china, ME, Russians may be shut out...

LFA's sell for 400k. This is a 400K car easily IMO.

Some of us have a raging emotional tie to this car. I for one will pay what I have to in order to get one. I'd love to pay less don't get me wrong but I need one like I need oxygen. There's a dealer out there who will have a nice pay day with me unfortunately

I really do not believe the 300, or for that matter 1200 numbers. I believe similar numbers as before. Why make less after all the tooling, There is a strong market (stronger than 05 -06), I still believe they are gunning for the 458. Maybe they will also make a strictly track only "R" version for privateers?

And I don't disagree. LFA to me is worth way less than 400k and I wouldn't buy one for 100k. LFA might as well read LFJ...(Lexus $#$@!$ Junk) LOL...

Carbon fiber production costs dropping. I never considered buying the lexus. (not crazy about the looks!). However this new GT is incredible. Hugh market!! Their are those of us where there is no limit to what we would pay to own one. However there are those of us who do! But we all have the same passion to own these beautiful american supercars which remind us for those special years at lemans where we were proud to be americans! Come on Ford build enough of them so we all have a chance of owning one!!!
