Re resale value. Would it be wrong to assume that over the course of a year if you were to get a 430 at MSRP you would loose almost nothing in depreciation or very little in comparison to a GT until the replacement model for a 430 came out. I watched 360s depreciate only after the 430 came out.
Gt's will do worse in the short run but probably better in the long run for two reasons.
1. No replacement model
2. Cult American following.

There is no doubt that Americans set the bar in values of vehicles. And they love their cobras, vettes, chargers, challengers, cudas and vipers. Yes, the
original vipers for what ever reason defied the rate of depreciation compared to any other North American vehicle. When China dominates consumer consumption they too will want our gts:club

One question sir, why would a 430 depreciate any differently than a 360 has?
Not slamming Fcars, I am a proud owner. Just asking you to explain your theory.

Regarding the FGT there are 4038 less the 300-400 that have been totaled.
Thats a bunch of cars...

A totaled car, only means that the insurance company has paid the owner for the car and it has been sold for savage or scrape. Some of these cars will come back to life with a savage title and back on the road once again. Of course at much lower value.

Does anyone know the number of savage title cars on the road?

So, why did I trade my Ferrari in order to get the GT? For me, it was for a reason not really mentioned yet. I live in a more rural area and there are no service facilities or shops that will even touch Ferraris

'Yet another reason I bought my GT as well ... 'nearest Ferrari dealer is in Seattle ...100 miles away. And there are TWO Ford dealers close to me who have authiorized GT techs in their service dept.

Key is until the next model. The 360 depreciation started after the release of the 430. And the 430 will begin its depreciation more so after its replacement model. Hence depreciation will occur but is a delayed phenomenon. At least that is my perception.

I have a 430 on order and the Ferrari dealership left me a message. I have delighted sooooo much in the gt that I think am going to forgo the 430. Initially it didn't look like I was going to get a GT so I ordered a 430. Nearest Ferrari dealership is 1500 miles away. That is my biggest worry in getting the Ferrari.

At the right price I would buy 1 or 2 or more. I would make a good track or parts car. But I don't think the prices are low enough for me yet.

Great question, I wonder how one would find out. Maybe CarFax could tell, but would they?

No! No! No! I mean a guy who'd buy ONE - ONE! - to own/drive/ polish, etc.!! His ONLY "one"!:biggrin :willy :lol
(A rebuilt wrecked one would be fine for heavy mods or track use where "picky-picky" issues and resale arn't factors... but only if, like you said, the price was right.)

If you want one of the wrecked cars for a mod project, maybe now would be the time to advertise that "Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz" plate that you've been reluctant to sell. :wink

I have been told by the GT GUYS that they are currently rebuilding wrecked cars. Interesting, if anyone avoids turning a claim into their insurance company they can beat having the repair show up on Carfax...???

I have been told that Saleen is setting up, or is already in the process of repairing severely damaged GT's. They stated the number as 300 wrecked cars... again. It will be interesting to watch. How do they repair cars and avoid the salvage tittle issue, I really would like to know?

I have no doubt the cars that have been damaged can be correctly repaired.

When trying to decide the same thing at a Lambo dealership the other day, the salesman told me that the only car in his inventory that he felt would go up in value was a used 05 White and Blue FGT. (Sales pitch?)
Parked a new Gallardo, 430, 360 and GT side by side, starting them up, sitting and comparing...

I bought a GT! (Not that one)

I love them all, hard decision, and they are all different.

The GT is bad ass old school muscle packaged like never before, the 430 is refined and luxurious.

Look at them both and one will turn your head ever so slightly more than the other, that is the one for you...

just my 0.02$

Cheers :cheers
