Some other differences in the external body work. The street version has a flat transition between the front fender and door. The Mk II has a wider fender with a bulge there. On the street car you push in the door handle to open the door. On the Mk II you pull out the handle. 992418AA-DCB3-4624-B83D-E5D26F362165.jpeg30ED92CB-08B7-43E5-8646-1CCF6FE07901.jpegCD8D9B9C-6715-40F4-87AB-506BA40D4207.jpegB3A70762-7BBA-4A3A-B173-9B5BD2CB44C0.jpeg

Obviously, we have a nice AC system on the FGT. The Mk II has no AC, just one NACA duct up front. The flexible duct channels air to one eyeball vent in the cockpit. The windows are Lexan and have pop out vents. The car is so aero, not much air comes through the window vents.

Since there‘s no AC and limited airflow into the cockpit, I spec’d the car with a driver (and passenger) cooling system. The Chill Out system uses essentially a small fridge to cool a glycol/distilled water mixture to circulate in a cool suit. The reservoir is tucked way under the passenger footwell. The same NACA duct that directs air into the cockpit pushes air to the heat exchanger unit. Rather than using ice water, this system only needs to be purged once a year. I ran the car the other day on track without the unit and was getting hot with ambient air temps in the 60’s F. A definite must for track days.F97170C4-2556-403A-AD2B-09D75D305CB3.jpeg

The big hood scoop on the Mk II directs air to the engine oil cooler. The road cars have the engine oil and transmission coolers located behind the tail lamps. The Mk II has an external hood latch. The MK II engine oil and gear box oil are cooled by a large cooler that sits centrally over the gear box. It’s fed air by the large hood scoop. Our road cars have coolers that can be seen through the central holes in the brake lights. On the Mk II you see the tires through the holes in the brake lights 835745DE-2592-446B-8574-EEAEBC467E4F.jpegD8C8A243-2E8F-446A-B9F5-3106BBF91CF4.jpegB469A4F2-A594-4192-B606-814BEE679051.jpeg77883A5C-38C5-4ECA-B9D2-26E5F1CA8C11.jpeg

The Mk II runs on 98 octane race gas. No cats. Heffner exhaust. Some pics of details including CF ducting to brakes. 0AF16891-0F79-4014-9094-B2D1649115B3.jpegB8D87B44-A141-4096-8342-0B5C8FA3CA61.jpegFE4BDF28-EFBF-456D-8777-0A38ADF8E3F3.jpegF55AE485-C8D7-4FF4-951F-5B020CC46941.jpeg

My Ford GT Mk II arrived about 4 weeks ago. Serial number 11 (the Spinal Tap reference 🙂) tenth car built by Multimatic. I went with White Water Pearl and matte CF. Pretty straight forward spec that would allow for potential vinyl wraps at a later date. The car looks stunning in it‘s simplicity and I’m happy leaving it as is. Stormcat and Bony (RIP) would be proud. The car got delivered directly to my house by Reliable. Pretty low key.View attachment 61450 View attachment 61448

Those pix from the front, the car in white, it looks so "streetable", then the back.... not so much...

Those mid pipes on a street car would be fun...

Thanks so much for sharing. Really neat to see the differences. What's the Pontiac emblem?

Arrow pointing to tow ring on car. It says “TOW” on the arrow. I’ve owned a couple of Pontiac’s. A 70 RA-III and a 73 Superduty 😂

Bad to the bone. Business in the front, business in the back. All killer, no filler.
