Here are some photos of the Tubi Exhaust installed on the GT. Please note: this is not my car, and it is posted here just for informational purposes.

Yes, I agree. What kind of tool would post the photos without a sound clip.

....oh....

Is there a weight savings or performance gain with the Tubi exhaust? If so, how much?

Tubi

It looks nicer than stock and assuming there is no baffeling inside, should sound more robust, but it looks like it will increase the temperature in the engine compartment rather than decrease it. The performance improvements with tube exhausts has come from reducing the air temperature more than improving flow. The stock muffler has a wrapper on it to act somewhat like an insullator. It is just so large and close to the air filter that it is a problem. The Tubi is also large and pretty close to the air filter. If the wrapper is really just an enclosure over inside tubing, then there is a chance it will be better. The exhaust tips look a little better. I don't know why they are round when the bumper holes are oval?

The Tubi appears significantly narrower, and it appears less tall. It should provide more air exit than does the stock or Borla. It likely has baffling similar to stock but less of it.

The tips are actually an option and a $650 one at that.

I would still like to hear Accufab's system. I am concerned that it would be too loud and unless coated, it may also become fugly over time. Then again, nothing could be fuglier than the stock dumpster.

If anyone installs the Tubi, Accufab or other exhaust and has experience with how all sound, please contact me. I am having service work done within the next month, and that would be an ideal time for exhaust installation. Thanks.

I most certainly do NOT agree.... It's very important for a "force feed" (read super charged) motor to have a minimum of backpressure (does need some to keep the torqe) in order to breathe as well as possible... Air temp is not so bad when the air box sucks in free air through the vents...

And people seeing lower water temps with the tubes is due to less resetance in the exhaust...

$3495, as I recall, but you can deduct $600 for the tips.

No that is with tips.

If Accufab is as loud as Kinetics, it would be too loud for me.

....and if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt. The Accufab exhaust system is not a Kinetics exhaust, whatever that is, nor have we ever sold them our GT X-Pipe system.

Your post is like someone saying, "if Honolulu is as cold as Minneapolis, it's too cold for me".

The stock muffler does not significantly contribute to back pressure and thus just changing to a tube is not a significant improvement in flow. Bob Ida claims the improvement comes from reducing the input air temp to the motor by removing the heat source in the engine compartment.

I need to go into the exhaust business. Too bad I am not as good with metal as I am with wood (no blue pills here).
Anyone want a solid oak straight pipe?? :rofl

Depends. What diameter oak are you planning to use?

Interesting theory there, Beach-GT, except for one thing. The air inlets for the engine are located OUTSIDE of the car, not inside the engine compartment.

Re: Kinetics Exhaust

Accufab,

I believe eShrink was alluding to the exhaust system developed and installed by a local speed shop here in the Atlanta area Call Kinetics Speed Shop.

One of the local GT owners and member of this forum (Tungsten) had the Kinetics system installed and later reported a severe "drone" when driving the car on the highway.
