Having read many different stories on the pulley swab issue, I would like to know if anybody has ever heard of a 2.58" pulley that is supposed to give 21 PSI of boost??

The reason for my asking is just haveing seen THIS clip with a guy claiming to have a staggering 625 RWHP with the above mentioned item (no Borla mufler, no headers, no zhit)

The Whipple pulley supplied by Dallas Mustang gives you 18 psi, but I don't know the dia of that thing...

Perhaps Joe (the owner of the GT in the clip) is just a big BS'er??

What is your thoughts guy??

ha ha ha.. I just came back to this thread to post that I found out that Piko6 is indeed Piko-Joe

So Senior Piko - where do I get hold of this 21 psi pulley now that the fact is that the Whipple one creates just 18 psi???

Thanks

IIRC that 2.58 was specially made for him. I'd like to see a picture of how close that pulley is to the snout of the blower.

The 2,58... Already delivered to HP Performance for me. Just need to get up there. I heard from Dustin Whipple that the engine can take it, no problem. HP has done installs of both sizes, and they recommend the smaller one. And Joe is still going strong and upgrading, so.. ? By the way, the GTX has the 2,7 smaller one standard, so given the safety limits a manufacturer needs to follow, there should really not be any issue with the smaller one here.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Just spoke to Dallas Mustang and they called up Justin Whipple to get hold of a 2.58 for me.

The answer they got was that a 2.58 DOES NOT FIT THE GT!!!!
He claims to have never made nor sold a 2.58 for a GT
Justin also said that you would have to machine the housing of the charger to make a 2.58 work.

Could it be that these HP Performance is trying to be clever, and that Mr Joe has been taken for a ride????

Would still love to see a snout shot of the 2.58 pulley on that blower :wink

Of course someone could have made a different blower snout for the red car...

hope this helps !

Stefan,

I haven't heard back from Jerry yet, but we did install the 2.8" pulley. The guys in Fl used our 2.7" so theres only a 1.5lb difference, but enough that you can feel. As for the stock parts, there pretty close to the best so I feel very confident in the engine's ability to take the power for the long term.

Thanks,
Dustin

It wouldnt be hard for lets say a certain Gentleman that works here with me to go into the factory computer on a dyno with the NGS and make certain adjustments to get you atleast another 50 to 75 whp by tunning the factory computer. Ive seen it done on a stock cobra and have seen him reach up to 40 whp more with just a stock tune upgraded from factory. But the minute someone goes in and does any sort of reprogram it will be lost and will have to be redone.
