4th Day:
On the road at 8am. Had breakfast downtown Telluride. Short 4 hour drive to Gallup, NM today. The aspens Golden leaves were remarkable as we drove down the mountains.

Day 5:
Final day to destination.
4 hours today. Both ready to arrive and reunite with gt friends.
2,178 total miles to Chips place for an awesome gathering. Many thanks to him and Peggy and Charlie.
Also, much appreciation to Rich Robak for his recommendation to change my 8 year old battery!
Rick and I were up this morning and got the job done.

So we began our journey home to Michigan yesterday. Ran into some snow at higher elevations, but roads clear.
Stopped at the Petrified National Park and explored the sites there. Made it to Gallup, N.M. Stayed at El Rancho on route 66, had a nice dinner there.

Day 2 of return journey:
6 am start out of Gallup, n.m.18 degrees. Frost on the car. Drove 11 hours. Ran into some spot ty thick fog while still on the mountains. Took a brunch stop in Tucumcan. This was a run down ghost town affected by the route 66 neglect. Made it to Wichita, KS. Stayed next to the Cessna,Beechcraft plant.
While Lynn and I were getting a morning workout in, I noticed Romain Grosjean behind me. Chatted with him for a bit. He was there to get training in his Beechcraft Premier. A small jet.

3RD day of return journey:
IT'S A GREAT DAY IN AMERICA!!!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

7 hour day of driving from Wichita to Springfield, Illinois. Getting a little dark with these time changes and shorter days. Great day to focus on post election day podcasts in the car.
Grateful and blessed for beautiful weather.

Yes I did run into Grosjean for real. He was in Wichita for system training and simulator for his new jet he bought. He is very into flying.

4th and Final day of return journey:
So 4,719 miles later, Lynn and I made it home to Plymouth with certain levels of anticipation.
Today was a 6 hour day with blue skies the entire way.
We are both grateful for an uneventful, safe trip.

Our bottoms are sore, the car is filthy, but our hearts are full after spending time with our fordgt family!
