This is probably a foolish question, but if these trackey's are a matter of programing the "chip" inside the key, and when inserted to start the car they activate the preprogramed performance settings, is it not possible to have a secondary "program" in our FGT's ECU (not sure if that's what it is called) that when the "trackey" is used the the preprogramed settings are enabled? Just wondering....

I believe you misunderstand how the dual path programming logic works. The "chip" inside the key is not where the performance calibration software resides. The extra tune is resident in the PCM which is a black box in the engine bay which controls many (if not all) engine calibration functions. The track key concept merely tells the PCM which tune to use when the engine is started.

When the trackkey program is downloaded, it is put into the PCM, not the key. Inserting an "A" key or "B" key merely tells the PCM which path to go to for engine parameters. And I would think it would take a certain architecture PCM to have two equally accessible tunes available. Probably a bit too early for our circa 2004 style PCM computer.

Thanks for clarifying.
