Toyo R888 R’s

I am not qualified to give you an engineer's perspective.

A lot has been made out of tires dates (age) lately. If stored correctly and still in new, unused, non heat-cycled condition should be big help.

It is getting to the point where beggars can't be choosers on these sizes anyway. I will be needing new soon as well and was mostly just curious.

Agree on the beggars part, I’ve conceded to run Hoosiers and just drive at the track primarily. I’d love some nt01’s or r888’s or sport cups 2’s and worry less on the street, but Hoosiers are better for the track and maybe we can groove them?? Anyone done that?

I just saw the new Camaro ZL1 1LE (frickin gorgeous) with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R summer-only tires (305/30ZR19(98Y) & 325/30ZR19(101Y)) and was curious about their suitability (obviously a different wheel pkg would be necessary).

They sure STUFF the Camaro wheel wells!

I have a new 1LE and can attest to the grip of these tires; I'm sure other sizes will soon be available, but I'm not holding my breath on a 315/40-19 anytime soon. The 3Rs are roughly equivalent in stick to the Cup 2s, but they do seem to last longer on track in the heavy Camaro.

Yes, Roger Krause Racing in Cal put the Intermediate groove on my Hoosiers, in case for unexpected change in weather. See pix within link below.
