Don't know if there is a specific value but I keep an eye on them because of the expansion and contraction due to the heat. I probably check them and snug them up if needed every few months. Definately don't overtighten them.

Shadowman posted tip on these. A dab of black silcone on the non visible parts of the threads will at least keep them from falling off if they get loose.

Torque value is hard finger tight and about another 1/4 turn with a wrench max IMO. They are studs that are set in plastic, don't over do it. I believe if you turn them totally tight bad stuff will happen.

The other option is to replace them with a nyloc nut and forget about it forever. Bag the OEM nuts for that concours resto in 30 years.

I know from experience that the studs will break off very easily if tightened more than finger tight. I have had mine off for cleaning and broke one stud in the process. Be very careful.:bang

If you are talking about the engine vents below the rear glass on the clam shell they are 9 in-lb.

Thanks, I suspect the factory did not torque them in the right sequence or with the right value, standing by my driver door and looking at them, the seem on the bottom right one is bent a little. I know about the heat issue from the engine which could be a contributor but I also think torqued improperly could be a potential issue also. BTW, I just replaced the factory muffler, but I was thinking of loosening them and re-torquing them to 9 inch/lbs properly, or should I leave well enough alone :confused., and no I'm not taking her to the dealer for the repairs.
