Generally on items like that the switch itself would need to be replaced.
I have the same issue on my headlight switch.
How are they removed? Almost looks like I can get to that switch from the steering column opening.
You have to remove the lower dash section. There's a steel dash support plate that needs to come out. When you get the plate out you will see the switches. There is a retaining plate that holds the switches that must be removed. When you remove the retaining plate the switches will pop out..
Thanks! I am going to have the switch ordered Monday.
Any tips on the radio on radio removal? My CD player died. Do you think they will repair or replace? I just want to take in the unit.

All I would add to this is be "VERY" careful when removing the leather lower dash trim piece as it is very easy to damage it.
It should be removed by pushing the retainers from the inside of the dash area out rather than pulling and then in the narrow area above the "start" button the trim piece has no secondary reinforcing and if you are not careful it will bend like a pretzel.
Once it is removed the steel impact panels are easy to remove and then switch can be serviced.
I can not state it high enough; take your time with the leather lower trim panel and having a seond pair of hands would reduce the risk of damage significantly.
For example if you have a person sit in driver seat and then losen the press in retainers and have them simply hold the trim piece in position while the remaining retainers are pressed out and then you can methodically remove the piece from the gal.

I finally made the time to get the switch (and a new Mac). Do I approach the retainers from the bottom foot well area?
Thanks

I'm sorry, if he doesn't cough up some bottle holders, he won't make it across the Mississippi River.

I have the new unit from HotCat, drivers side in CF holds two guages, and the passenger side is one square unit to hold a litre bottle of Makers, and round unit to hold a quart of Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermount and a two small round small units for the bitters and shaker.
The GT Guys did an amazing job installing a small icemaker with a CF surround (thanks again Mr. Hot Cat) where that ugly subwoofer used to sit. The entire system works perfectly.
Cat is drinking on Frankie since we will all be signing his name to bar bills and for other comfort items...
