Tire slime expiration date

this all brings back an old story of an owner took his new GT out for a ride over to his buddy's house.
he went inside to get his friend to go for a ride and when he looked, the GT had a rear flat tire.
the finally found the screw in the tire and proceeded to plug it laying on the ground in 90 some degree heat.
they finally got it done and aired it up and it worked good. except that when the new owner opened the
clamshell to show off the engine, they didn't realize they could have plugged the tire on top with the clamshell
open instead of laying on the ground to do it. too funny! lol

Tires have a 3-4 year self life .Weather they have 5 miles on them or 500000.
This is the number one cause of highway accidents.

That may be true for a set of race slicks if you are trying to set a track record. Not so much for street tires when stored properly. Even the link you posted says 10 years and that is from a tire seller.
