Think I have a oil breather hose leak?

Doing first at home oil change and took pans off and noticed some oil on one.
Looked up and noticed some drip spots and followed them up high as I could.

Whilst moving my hand around the breather hose as it enters the oil res my hand brushed under the clip retainer and I got a nice smear of oil from that area.
When thinking that it should just fall from there I found it on the front of the valve covers and some other locations not under the clip and eventually I guess it found its way to the pan.
Some ran down canister to the drain plug as well.

The breather hose is pretty stiff to press and still original so wondering if its time is up + the clips not as strong?

I tracked the car early this year and never seen this before that..... probably some relevance there?

Thoughts...

Thanks.....IMG_1312.jpegIMG_1313.jpegIMG_1314.jpegIMG_1315.jpegIMG_1316.jpegStuart

I have same issue on my 06, and have the hose on order from Ford. The hose was only around $40, but it has been on order a couple of weeks so far. I think it is from aging/drying out.

Common problem. Change the clamp..

Exactly. Very common. Just change the clamp. We recommend you to use a stainless steel long-tail worm clamp which will not damage the hose when tightened.

Had replaced the clamp on both of mine. Problem solved at very little cost.

Thanks for the input, glad its not really a big issue.

Will work on a better clamp and some brake cleaner to do a good clean up.

Had some of these in the garage so should work well enough.

Very clean look. What size clamp did you use? Thanks, Bruce

Nafod..... I had some laying around and this was the smallest one.
This is at its largest hook up point.
I had to manually curve the whole thing to resemble the hose so the barbed teeth sat flush.
Best to buy one thats already got a curve (way smaller then mine) matching the hose already.
Little tricky to pinch the lower one as its pretty tight down there.

I think it looks nice and not out of place.
Tricky to get off but if your doing that its to replace hose so won't matter if it gets damaged.

CV pinch pliers should be at auto store to finish job offIMG_1368.jpeg

Well I guess I will have to take a tennis ball with me to the hardware store. What fits a golf ball?

The bottom of the cup fits well for me...Looks good down there.
