Don't mix tread patterns means don't mix makes.

Dead on. Personally I won't use tires older than 5 years on any car I own.

There are no issues with running different front and rear tires as long as you are aware that the handling characteristics will change, and that you are comfortable with those new characteristics.

Maybe 30 years ago this was a valid argument. I run Hoosiers in the rear and Mich Pilot sport cups in the front. Been doing that for years on the GT no issues street or track. Anyone running the Bridgestone 345 Enzo tires on the rear and a 18" tire on the front are running two different tires and I haven't heard of any issues.. The true matching Bridgestone front tire is a 19" dia. ..

For those running the 345/30-19 there is now a new option alongside the Hoosier ang Michelin Cup Sport.
Toyo R888 would make a great track day tire http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Toyo&tireModel=Proxes+R888&partnum=43YR9R888

Looks like it would be a nice rain tire.... :thumbsup

Is there a size for the front wheels?

There is a 245/40-18 which is 07.33% smaller than the standard tire

So TireRack has the BS 265/40 ZR 18 (101Y) N0 (Porsche) RE050A at $346.80 per tire, and the 265/40 ZR18 (101Y) N1 (Porsche) RE050A at $294.40 per tire. Question is which tire should I go with? Is the preferred tire the N1, or N0?

Just put new rears on my car (Potenzas). I've always used tire rack, but this time I bought from Simpletire - $60 less per tire than the other guys, free delivery, and date coded 42-16. They arrived the day after I ordered, I'm sold on this outfit!

Thanks to texas mongrel for the Simple Tire tip.

Scuderias are $393 shipped vs. $463 shipped at Tire Rack (still out of stock).

Freshness freaks apply elsewhere though. Date code is 0914.

The NHTSA says that tires are good through 6 years from date of production and that 10 years is upper limit of useful (safe) service life. The tires above with date code of March, 2014 are a stone's throw from being 4 years old at the time of purchase. If the GT is driven a lot and in the coming 4-5 years the tires will be "consumed" then this age of tire likely isn't a factor.

Big Bend Open Road Race rules require tires less than five years old. This year, both fronts had expired even though I’d bought them from Tire Rack in 2015. After a lot of begging from me they let me run, and nothing blew up after averaging 150mph for sixty miles, so I’m guessing that the time limit is conservative
