Thanks for your input, I agree it was out of line and not very nice to post what I did. I did it quickly and with out much thought. I feel very fortunate to have the car I own, and should not have made fun of someone else's purchase. Sorry

Hmmmmm....been thinking about this for a few hours.....
First off, my post was an attempt at poking some fun at the on-going, raging thread about tire widths and pressure and how they effect the contact patch.
Having said that I think your being a tad bit hard on the posters of this thread and the Forum in general.
Having gone to many of the GT forum functions I must say almost to the letter these are some of the most down to earth non pretentious people I have ever met. Most are true car guys and have all "been there done that" when it comes to dumping hard earned money and time into a lost cause or more bluntly put "piece of sh-t". God knows I threw a ton at my first car, a 1972 Vega and was vice president of the now infamous Vegabonds:lol. My friends still howl at me and I give it back to them about their 4 wheeled abortions as well. My '77 Toyota 4wheel drive conversion project was no cheep picnic either:smash. I suspect most on here see that Avenger project and think "oh man is he in for a big lesson" or "been there done that" or maybe "STOP while your wife still is talking to you" not "I have a real GT and I'm better than him". However I have seen this forum get quite testy when people fraudulently market their cars or make ridiculous claims. IMO this is an issue of honesty not snobbery.
Northwood, I SWEAR I not trying to start anything with you but I do believe you have it wrong.
I know politics have been outlawed and understand the reason. I truly hope we haven't become so PC we can no longer poke some fun at the very Item we are so passionate about (cars) without being perceived as snobbish . I for one can only write about what color GT is the fastest or which exhaust sounds the best for so long without loosing interest.

Sincerely, SteveA
