Thanks for all the well wishes. I got the car back from a comprehensive clear bra application and drove it home yesterday evening. Had to brave 50 miles of DFW rush hour traffic, but it's home safe now. Took the car out again this evening for a short 30 mile drive with the Mrs riding along. You better like who your riding with...things are quite cozy. Played with the gearbox in auto and manual (paddle shift) mode, normal vs sport mode, wing up and down etc.
A few brief thoughts as John Hennessey has covered quite a bit in his post.
This car is a technological marvel. Shifts are super smooth and nanosecond fast. The steering is tactile and the car goes where you point it, intuitively. Sport mode is a blast with the turbos spooled up and ready to go. The throttle response is so crisp. I kept the wing deployed most of the time. Looks cool but does limit visibility out the back. At 6'4", I fit fine with the driver's seat providing a firm grip. I have the aero screens installed and they definitely are necessary. Strained a whole bunch of little flints and pebbles on a short drive.
The exhaust note is pleasantly "angry" on throttle. Different than a V8 rumble, but I do like it. The steering controls are really cool, just have to learn the turn signal technique since there's no turn stalk.
If the weather cooperates I'm taking the Heritage to the Concours de Elegance of Texas this Sunday. I will display it, since formal entries are closed.
Got my Exoticare floor mats, Gurney decal (thanks Apollo!), Ford Performance decals (thanks Blake!), and a box full of FGT toy cars to hand out.
