It sounds the guts of the new blower are may be the same as the Kenny Bell unit.
As for a 1000 HP (RWHP) on a GT with a blower on pump gas, it is not a wet dream, it is a GRENADE!!!
Even 1000HP (crank) with race gas would be a stretch. The heat generated from the blower would heat the air temps very high, very fast, without an upgraded intercooler system and or water injection.
Hey what the hell skip the caution and water injection, 1000 HP can be easily reach via nitrous cooling!
Without traction there is no difference between 700 rwhp and 1000 rwhp anyway.
800 rwhp with a Whipple really isn't that difficult. I have seen 782 at the tire on my car at 19 psi on 93 octane. I am sure a few more degrees of timing would get me there. The engine also only had 300 miles on it. A few more miles of break in would also net me some more power.
At the end of the day there is no sense in grenading a masterpiece of an engine for a few more ponies. Without traction there is no difference between 700 rwhp and 1000 rwhp anyway.
I'm very pleased with my new Gen II Whipple. Made 731 rwhp through the stock manifolds and Heffner exhaust at 20 psi on 93 Octane.
My brother will be doing an article on the car soon at www.thetruthaboutcars.com.
Another buddy who also helped install Soroush's blower has done his own writeup here:
