I have a 2005 Ford GT. It is the first American car I have owned in 22 years.
It is an amazing automobile. its performance, style and ease of driving are beyond appraoch. I have had no problems so far only the annual oil service.

When I was looking to add to my stable I was not thinking American. I had driven the Corvette and the steering has a remote and numb feel. Honestly you could not give me one. I was negoitaing with a local Porsche dealer for the Porsche GT He had come down $30k so we were getting pretty close. The other car I was considering was a Ferrari F40. At the time I knew the Orlando Ferrari dealer well since I had a 2003 360 Modena which has now been updated to a 2006 F430. Then I saw the ad at the Ford dealer saying they had a Ford GT on display. Hell not a bad way to spend a few hours.
I was not expecting much when I decided to look at the GT. Hell was I wrong. It is an awesome car!

When I bought it I had several tolerance issues, 6 to be exact. The dealer fixed those. All during the process I was treated like i would at the Ferrari or Porsche dealerships ( I have a old 1999 911 Cab). Maybe better.

I have been happy with the car and the buying service experience itself. If I have trouble getting it taken car of I would dump it and go buy something else. No emotion here it is just equipment.

FYI
I also have a 2005 MB E320,

a Lotus Sport race car (they say) #8 of the total 50 built,

1965 427 Shelby Cobra. It is not a 427 (as on the badge) and it is a replicar. It does have 450HP and 500 ft-lbs of torque 5 speed and only 2142 lbs. Nice car fun to make noise but drives like a 87 Corvette (which is the chasis) or a gargage truck with a lose front end. Take you choice they are both accurate.

Three motorcycles including a specialy made chopper plus stuff. Anyway I have nothing but good things to say about the Ford GT. Sorry you are having trouble.

Lee :cheers

Hi Lee and welcome

An interesting first post and yet well received; at least by me.

To a person folks openly love these gals however they seem to have been fighting an uphill battle with regards to nits; one in particular and yet I suspect that you are already aware of this.

There is "NO" doubt that there are some very wonderful dealerships and relationships that have developed within however this situation would appear to be an anomaly many rather than the norm.

I for one would not give the gal up because of these issues; in fact rarely do I let others touch my gals whether there is a warranty or not however the majority of folks do not fall into this arena.

You state that it would become a simply mechanical decision for you; no emotions however I dare say that it is the passion and the resulting passion that drives most when they step into the Exotic car arena; at least this is true for me. I garner as much pleasure from looking at them as I do driving them so without the passion I dare say we would all be driving ... or better put sitting in some generic "coastalcanhardly" tooling along reflecting sadly back upon the days when as individuals we were able to find pleasure in a variety of mechanical wonders.

Somehow I do not see you as a "Car Crazy" person but rather someone that simply likes cars. No disrespect intended and yet "most" folks that I know that have extreme gals are bit ...... lets say over the top when it comes to how they feel about there mechanical family

All the best and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts

Regards

Andy, it's on your machine, you will see that my letter which I was dated January 11th went into storage recommendations, fluids, battery, paint opposed to Shadowman's which has the basic information on who to call for help.
Happy New Year!

My letter is two pages, goes into storage details for the car, wonder why Ford shortened the copy?

I would enjoy a copy however ........... 6 months ago I went completley wireless as such no land line fax...... so scan or snail mail it must be.

With the name having been changed I would say that internal changes have been made with more in the process.

This would likely explain the lack of second page because by default in the corporate world the unspoken mentality is that the higher up the food chain you reside the less trivial/task oriented (subjectively speaking) information and processes one tends to deal with; they are either assumed completed or if recognized then quickly delegated.

ahhhhh I am probably reading too much into it nevertheless I still sense a new breeze approaching.

On a lighter note; I just spent some time with my gal and we are getting along just fine.
