THE FORD GT DAYS 2014 at Le Mans.

Hello to all.

It is not the simple (even simplistic) passion for the Ford GT, which inspired me to devote so much energy to the birth and the animation of this Club.

Rather it is the idea that, among people who were able to discover and enjoy this gorgeous car, there must be interesting and rich personalities.
From this point of view, in particular, the FORD GT DAYS I just live, are an absolute success.

This first edition was attended by 23 Ford GT.
Thank you all for your enthusiasm, your warmth and your kindness.

In a few days I will publish a report of this weekend, with dozens of photos.

We will do much better in 2016, and I hope that many crews come from USA.

REPORT OF THE FORD GT DAYS.


In Europe, each year in the spring, thousands of birds fly to the North, to meet and reproduce.
But, every two years at the beginning of the summer, there is a surprising phenomenon.
Hordes of horses converges towards the South to meet the famous racing circuit of Le Mans. In fact, they travel together under the bonnets of exceptional sports cars having marked the history.

This year, 110,000 people came to attend the frolics of 8,000 cars among the rarest and most beautiful, to look their loudly gallop, to admire their unique shapes and listen their love songs.

Did they reproduce ? I do not know. But, in any case, they amazed the audience.

This year 2014, and for the first time, at the initiative of the European Ford GT Owners Club, no less than 23 cars from the rare species Ford GT were present.

Thursday, July 3 (« The day*before*»).

The weather was very beautiful and the track was almost deserted. «*The quiet before the storm*».
We prepared the arrival of the horses, drawing their space on the floor, and organizing a lounge, safe from the elements, for their crews.
In the evening, we were almost ready. Everything was still and quiet, waiting for the arrivals.

Friday, July 4 («*The things begins*»)

The weather was always nice, and the first crews arrived.
The program of the day, was mainly a static display of cars, while crews get to know each others, walk for miles through the stands and the thousands of most incredible other cars, or around the track where the races began.

Each Ford GT had a designated place, wide enough to open the door completely. Rear visibility being very poor, everyone needed help to ensure perfect alignment.

We decided that the first three would be red, white, blue (to give a wink to France and USA), and the others would be grouped by the same color.
Grouping by color was not perfect, because of the number of cars arriving together, but it was spectacular.
This was the first time we could see so many Ford GT in Europe.
Our very young Club had achieved its goal, beyond expectations.

THE FORD GT IN SCULPTURE.

But it's time to show the work that we were proud to expose, from the Painter Alain Coupas, also passionate owner of a Ford GT.
This is the prototype of a Sculpture he will produce in extremely limited numbers.
After having collected a lot of enthusiasm and suggestions, he will develop and produce it, in Aluminum finely crafted and perfectly polished.
The first final sculptures should be created this Autumn.
Then, we’ll talk abundantly about them.

In the evening, we joined Solesmes for a wonderful welcome dinner organized by David Jones.
This was the time, for our Club, to give each driver, various goodies, including the «*rally plaque souvenir*» and the Poster bearing his name under the drawing of his car, in color.

Unfortunately, the English decided to come with their climate.
So it rains.



This is the longly awaited day of the "laps" on the 24 hours circuit.

SATURDAY DINNER.

We were about 50, at the evening gourmet dinner along the circuit. The meal was prepared by Chef Olivier BOUSSARD (one star in the Michelin guide).

SATURDAY NIGHT.

After dinner, very exceptionally, Ford GT owners were privately received by the organizers of the Le Mans Classic, at the «*Heritage Club*», with Champagne, sweets and terrace to look at the night races. Unfortunately, it was late, and very few of us waited to use this privilege.
