With all the awesome FGTs and exotic supercars in your garages do you still have a soft spot for some of the more ordinary cars from back in the days when you were in high scool - when money were less but car enthusiasm was peaking? ...... and did you keep or repurchased them later in life?
I´ve had US cars since 1989. At first, I had only one - a 66 Mustang convertible in "street machine" look -, but as the time passed and my piggy bank developed positively the collection grew in numbers and "level". Today the total Count on cars passing through my ownership is 108 US cars - cars I have bought because I thought I could not live without, but then realised there was something even better out there ..... :confused
I went throigh the phase where I collected what I thought were the finest muscle & pony cars - 66 Shelby GT350, 67 Shelby GT350, 69 Shelby, 70 Challenger T/A, 71 Cuda convertible, 71 Superbee R/T 440, 66 Corvette 427, 69 Chevelle 427 and so on but the past few years my focus has turned towards the cars I found cool back when I was in high school. Not necessarely the most expensive cars, not always the top model etc. - just cars I loved as a kid ....
I guess that you can go through various phases ..... and right now I am on a trip Down memory lane :biggrin
I now have all the cars that my friends had back in High School - Dallas High, Oregon 1983. I have the 53 F100 truck, the 68 Mustang coupe, the 74 Ranchero and now latest addition a genuine old school conversion van :biggrin
Funny thing is that cruising around in my no where near perfect - but one owner all original - Econoline Zimmer Conversion van brings me just as much joy - maybe even more - than when driving around in a show winning MOPAR or Shelby.
Any of you have it the same way? :biggrin
