We've been doing a pretty wild interior for a client recently.

Anything that was silver in the car, we are making in Texalium.
Anything that was black plastic or metal in the interior, we are making in carbon.

One of the new things we have made for this project are the steering wheel spokes.

We now are adding this to our catalog of parts and offer these in silver Texalium, carbon fiber, or any other custom fabric.

Interested parties can PM me for details.

Also - we've received a new batch of castings for aluminum double DIN radio brackets. We are presently machining those and will be doing finish work over the next week. Two are not yet spoken for. Once these are sold, we will be ordering up more castings.

Cheers!
Kip

I need to look up Texalium?? Looks impressive!

Found it "Hexcel texalium is a type of fabric used mainly for cosmetic reasons, having the same properties of standard 6 ounce fiberglass cloth. 2x2 twill weave with minor additional weight due to the hexcel texalium fabric coating that gives this fabric a metallic silver appearance"

Very cool material, silver looks awesome

What Texalium is.

I need to look up Texalium?? Is that on the Periodic Table? Looks impressive!

Texalium is often marketed as "silver carbon fiber".
It is not.
Carbon fiber can not be dyed or colored.
If you see a colored fiber, it is most likely either Kevlar or fiberglass.
There are a few other colored fibers, but they are pretty rare commercially.

Texalium is a trade name for fiberglass that has been coated with aluminum.

It literally looks like woven aluminum. We offer it in the same twill weave pattern that we produce the majority of our carbon parts.

I have no idea why companies market the material as "silver carbon fiber".
It is a really, really cool material. Remarkably difficult to work with, technically, but very cool looking.

Perhaps, because there are a few yards of it in one of your cars...
