Tape/bra protection


So, the local guy in town who does all or most of the tinting for GALPIN and has done a couple of my cars is going to install the deluxe 3M kit for $550...... Pretty good price? I think I'm going to go ahead with it now.

Should the car be detailed prior to this installation?

Tim, that sounds like a great price to me.
I recall most guys saying $800 - $1,000. I paid $900 four years ago.
Does this kit inlcude coverage on the rocker panels, mirrors, behind rear tires, etc?
Don't think you need to "detail" the car, but might want to make certain you get as much wax and such off the surface.
Keep us posted!

PS. I still need someone to apply the windsheild screen I purchased some time back. Now that I have a new windsheild I want to give it a try. Can you forward this guys' name and number to me so I can give him a call to see if he can handle it?

KJR, for the windshield skin, best to let a window tint guy do it. Bony let someone else do it and he was never happy. I had a window tint guy do it and it's great. Saved my bacon a few times already.

A good friend of mine Sean has done over 12 GTs and numerous Lambos, Ferraris etc. Sean from http://ultimateautocare.com can do it while we wait - take a look at his clientel in the Gallery. Stop by for lunch and we'll go see him.

I was told the Deluxe which should include the above, rocker panels etc... picking up today so I'll let you guys know.... This guy is a window tint guy so if you need his services, let me know.....
 
I called Rain X today, and this spray film is no longer made.
 
It is the Kit with all the glory..... They didn't send him all the components, so he still has my gal and should be finished sometime tomorrow.... I'll keep you guys posted...
 
 
So the final tally is.......
It was the whole deluxe Kit but they did not send him 1 piece, that piece is the 1 that sits on the roof just above our windshield. It is from a company called Formula One, I believe he said???
It is 8m thick???? and is everywhere. Joe actually did about 8 GT's back in the day for Galpin as he is located down the street from them. As for my $550, he charged me that and said it was because of the work I brought him in the past and he was glad we remembered him for this special project. He told me regularly, would be $750, so if anyones interested, let me know....

At one time he used 3M product but stated that some of the customer service was problematic to work with..... ???? The company that is on my gal now will repair/replace for free and pay Joe his labor at no cost to me... This is something our dear friend Shadowman discussed with me today and Joe freely brought this information up to me as well, Stand up guy....

I'm sitting here trying to tally up the total amount of pieces, and it's something like..... 20 + pieces???? I'll count and look at the receipt tomorrow

But, there ya go!!!!!
