Do any of you out there know if my '06 GT can take the ferry to and from Whidbey Island, WA without scraping bottom getting on and off the ferry??

I've taken the Coupeville-Pt Townsend in my GT along with a CGT and we were fine(10-25-20 4:40PM). We got on at about a +7 and off about +6. If tide is +5 or more I'd think you'd be fine on any of them. Unless you're lowered, then??? I think they do have boards to help with lowered cars, just let them know when you're in line.

Well, you can always take the bridge. 😉

We went back roads from Renton to Whidbey over D-Pass, to Coupeville Ferry to Pt Townsend, to Tacoma Narrows and back to Renton. Great day!

I think it's in AZ right now.

It should not be a problem...I've taken it many times. Extreme low tide on Mukilteo side can be tricky. The ferry to Whidbey from Port Townsend shuts down on low tide days, just in case you were taking it. As 2112 said you can get on the Island from the north end with no ferry to concern yourself with. Adds another 100+ miles to the trip.

As a Florida boy who's never been to WA state, curious as to the attraction(s) on Whidbey Island ...

I see a car show Aug 13.

+1 on Naval Air Station Whidbey. As a former Navy pilot, I spent a few days there (passing through). I don’t know if it’s still open for non-military visitors. Check the web site.

Also, I took a motorcycle trip up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park a couple weeks ago. On the return trip, my son and I took the bikes on the ferry from Bainbridge Island to downtown Seattle. We had this view from the ferry of a thundercloud above Seattle. Actually, that was about 20 miles east of Seattle, but the “appearance” over Seattle is dramatic.

There has been an unusually large amount of moisture in the air over the Northwest these past two months.

Yes, we in the Midwest would like to see a mushroom cloud over Seattle.

Ta-dum!

We in southern and eastern WA wouldn’t mind that either. Jeff might take exception.

Having lived in Washington for 56 years, I can say that Seattle was once a magnificent city. Even during the Boeing bust years of the 70's.

The turning point seemed to be the WTO riots, but I think the culture of the voters has just dramatically changed with it becoming a high-tech center. It's problems are the type that get voted in.

Still physically beautiful if you stay out of certain neighborhoods.

True. We've had .10" of rain this year so far. And just like last year temp's are 5 to 10 degrees above normal. Actually looking forward to going north in a few weeks. Green grass, green trees and 30* cooler .
