I tried a tankful of 100 Octane yesterday and WOW does she ever love it. Almost like a different motor, in a very good way. I used racing fuel, which is pretty expensive. Has anyone tried using octane boosting additives in their GT?

From what I've read, you'd have to use gallons of an additive to increase the octane level in a 20 gallon tank. I read, don't believe the advertising hype.

Looks like 32oz treats 10 gallons. Price with tax about $20.00, so adds about $2.00/gallon which is not bad if it really does what it says. A gallon of 100 unleaded race fuel costs between $8-$10 in our area.

I have been using EFS (Eco Fuel Saver ) in my 2017 Ford GT Since the second tank of fuel with 87 Octane and now 92 octane (no ethanol fuel). We are working with Bob Ida of Ida Automotive to do some Dyno testing with this product and other HP Cars very soon and I will report the findings when available. My GT runs cooler with additional power and mid range torque. I have reduced heat and very little exhaust residue coming out the rear of my GT. XPel wrap has not been damaged due to the fact that the product reduces the heat as it changed the molecular structure of the total mixture. This product is not sold on the open market as yet but I have obtained it from the Chemist and owner! I’ll report back on results! PS I am not a snake oil salesman and would not take a chance of damaging my GT engine under any condition. Well known race teams have used this product in the past. I presently have 4,100 miles on my GT And have the cleanest burning GT around as per my delivery specialist!

You definitely shouldn’t run fuel with ANY amount of lead in it, unless you want to destroy your O2 sensors, followed by your cats, followed by your engine. I understand the desire to see if there are a few more ponies available with a bump in fuel octane, but unless you have been running inadequate octance fuel and your engine management system has already reduced your timing because of that, I doubt you will see any gains. Seems pretty ballsy to be experimenting with fuel “unknowns” with this car. JMHO...

I used octane booster in the Big Bend Road Race in West Texas where you can’t get 93. Do the research, some are good, some useless. The VP stuff is good, Royal Purple Max works too
My car runs fine on 93 octane

There you have it. Don't use: Fuels containing the octane booster additive, methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT).
The use of fuels with metallic compounds such as methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (commonly known as MMT), which is a manganese-based fuel additive, will impair engine performance and affect the emission control system.
Also aviation fuel has completely different additives/composition than vehicle fuel. Aviation fuel has additives and lead in it to prevent freezing and other conditions experienced while flying.

If you pull the spark plugs on small aircraft that runs 100LL, you can physically see the lead build up inside of them.

The EFS (Eco Fuel Saver) product that I have been using is a catalyst. It does not contain any of the chemicals listed on page 92 of the Owners Service Manuel.
I had a roommate in college back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and the best music was on vinyl and played via 2-channel stereo. I had $20 speaker wires. My roommate had $400 speaker wires. With extremely expensive test equipment he could present graph after graph showing how grotesque my $20 speaker cables were compared to his. Back then, my hearing was pretty good. Couldn't tell a damn bit of difference in blind A/B tests. Another valuable lesson learned "in college". Don't believe all the BS.

Ah, I recognize that name- I have your old CSX4145 aluminum Cobra! I see we have very similar taste, as I also own a ‘68 Hemi Dart, and a Ford GT (2006, and new one on the way). Who was the original owner of your Dart?
