Steering fluid Spec '05-'06 FGT

Requesting a ruling from the experts here on the steering fluid spec please. The shop manual shows Mercon Multi Purpose (ATF Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX, local Ford dealer says any transmission fluid will work . There's no XT-2-QDX spec on the Mercon V bottle?

Says right on the bottle that it replaces Mercon.
I have some of the original blend. Keep an eye on BaT for it.
