My car had replacement Speedhut gauges. I have the original also. Well, the speedometer is a GPS Speedometer. Not sure why previous owner replaced with a different gauge than what is standard with the Speedhut Ford GT replacement gauges, but anyway, thats what I have.
So, the digital and analog speeds were way off. Digital was normal but analog was way off. I discussed with Speedhut and they were very sorry and tried to make it right but nothing worked. Prior owner said it always read incorrect on analog but he just watched the digital.
So, they said they would send me a new gauge and I send my old one back. Since I didn't want to take my dash apart but once, I waited till the gauge got here to take apart based on Kendall's prior post. So, when I took my dash apart, I noticed the Speedometer gauge I was removing wasn't the same as the one they had just sent me. All the wires on the one they sent were "plug and Play" while one of my wires went inside my Speedo. So I took pictures and sent to them. They said......ohhh..you have one of the old Speedometers and the dash you have won't fit the new gauge so you need a new dash to fit the gauge. So they sent me a dash free of charge but a simple Speedometer change turned into a several hour ordeal to take out every gauge and installing in the new dash.
Moral of story...if you have old Speedhut Speedometer you will have to replace whole dash if you upgrade. Also, do don''t do some special gauge that is really not made for the Ford GT because when/if you ever need to replace, it might not fit.
Speedhut was very supportive but still it was a major headache to have to replace everthing.
