After seeing what i saw yesterday i plead with you guys to keep the speed to the track and off the streets

Yesterday 2 blocks from my house a guy was speeding through an intersection and hit a small toyota car broadside , the guy driving the car which was speeding is in the hospital , all others were dead on the scene , 5 in total , 2 kids 3 and 5 and 3 generations of a family

the scene was so bad that the police , ambulance and fire fighters were crying at the scene , at one time they thought there were 6 people dead until they put all the body parts together

Think about it next time you put the petal to the metal on the public roads

I know I will never be the same after this crash

What an absolutely sad and sobering story. That's something for many of us to reflect upon. For the most part I'm pretty reasonable but the urge to let it loose is one that can come easily with these cars. I know that from past experience and hope this will help subdue figure urges.

Again, THANKS for posting this. You may have just prevented a 'repeat' of that incident from happening down the road...

Let's hope so.

Have to say I feel similarly about folks texting/emailing/surfing web and driving. Every time I am driving in town, I see other drivers with their heads buried in their phones.
Crazy.

Amen to that! As a 50 year motorcycle rider, I pay special attention to car drivers - what unexpected thing will they do next? The ones on cell phones etc are absolutely not in control of their vehicles, and are not paying attention to driving. I pass and avoid whenever possible.

while im sure speed is a contributing factor, just to throw that out as "the cause" is not necessarily the full story. Did the car with the kids run a stop sign or red light? Or did the guy? I'm guessing there's a lot more than speed to blame. Alcohol? Texting? Either way, someone was not paying attention...

A woman texting ran over and killed a nanny who had two kids of her own in HS and hit the 15 month old in the stroller with the Nanny. After several surgeries the baby is ok from what I hear. The baby and the stroller were under the bumper. My wives friend pulled him out of the stroller from under the car, she will never be the same. 300 yards from our house on a street that is long, straight, and a lot of HS kids texting.

Completely terrible God bless there families. I agree, keep speed off the streets. A friend of ours saw a FGT speed down his street, the car lost control and flipped. The owner was killed instantly by a broken back and snapped neck. Speeding is a dangerous game. Be responsible and stay safe! -Hunter Blount

I agree attention is the normal major factor ( well most of the intersection accidents I worked back in the day) , you add speed and it makes a bigger mess! You never forget the faces!

Drivers "driving" while texting is the main reason I gave up riding crotch rockets. I used to have a sweet RC51. Just felt too vulnerable riding it on city streets.

There is a video of the fire. Looks like gasoline to me. nothing in the car can burn like that, but gas. How it started is beyond me. I assume there is a gas tank in the rear with a in the tank fuel pump and a fuel line running up to the engine in front. Even if the fuel line had a leak what ignited it? At the 65 MPH on the bridge the fumes would build up. Maybe someone threw a cigarette out the window.

My guess if that be the case? Tailpipe. 'Only thing I can think of that might be hot enough. 'Cats would have to be much further fwd.
